Pretty awful food. Fries were burnt. Falafel wrap wasn’t wrapped and falafel didn’t hold together/ was mushy. Not worth $15Owner came out drunk ranting about gun rights with his buddy. Really bad visit.
Terrible food, terrible service. The owner has no respect whatsoever and treats everyone poorly poorly. The food is partly prepared and disgusting.. On top of this, This establishment was harassing vendors that were selling food across the street. They fell threatened that a couple of vendors were selling hot dogs? I'd stay away from this location at all costs costs!
Music playing way too loud, otherwise Falafel Hut is a nice place to grab a bite to eat. I ordered the falafel wrap, which was tasty without trying to be fancy. The basket came with good french fries. This place is quite small, but the Saturday crowd was fine - no long waiting to be served. This is near the municipal wharf in Santa Cruz, so the view from a sidewalk table is pleasant - normal people, no movie stars, no lambos. But I do wish they would ease back on the speaker system.
this was when i moved in to SC across the boardwalk(2 yrs ago.) got the food and they were just ok. could hav better gyros but it was a joint to try out at least
Let’s start with rude owner supper old school no respect for his customer kicks his customer out because of supper bowl Sunday while I asked one his employees why are you closing early his response was oh no we are having a party for our selves today. So all customer sit out side while we party inside. I then go pay with my card owner comes out yelling we only take cash use my atm which is next to his register I was like this must be a joke haha ?. Good job my brother good job on making your falafel shop look like a crack house.
This will be my first and last time as a customer here! We ordered two chicken gyro combos and a nugget combo for dine in. First they came to the table and were lamb gyros and all three fries were fried so hard they were almost potato chips. We sent back the gyros to be corrected...no problem. Kept the fried hard fries to eat while waiting cause we were so hungry. The chicken gyros come to the table with maybe 10 small slivers of chicken cut up on top of a pile of lettuce, diced tomatoes, and the absolute worst sour tasting taziki sauce I have ever had in my life. My husband only could eat the chicken off the top of his and I totally couldn't eat mines.. I informed the employee there of the sour sauce. He went to talk to the owner in the back, came back to the front where we were sitting and he nor the owner said absolutely nothing about our food complaint. Ok. Not even an acknowledgement either. No prob... won't be back to donate $40 on bad food!
It used to be a British pub so the owner kept the old wood decor. The Iranian owner/cook was so helpful. The fish and chips were outstanding. They had beer and wine. Hubbie had falafel and loved it. It's quaint and local so that is good.
If you wanna meet the mean-spirited falafel guy in santa cruz, go ahead this is a spot for you !!
It’s owned by an Arabic guy and he’s obsessed about service.. we have to go to the counter and order food and temporarily I think they just accept cash!! The falafel were yummy but the fries were not crispy it was like a boiled potato with oil on top! Rest the service was amazing as he was made sure if we had everything in place while we had food
I really liked it here, great food, great service, and the guy was amazing. The music was good. He changed it even tho we told him not to. We asked for water for my service, he brought water and chicken without us asking for it. My dog didn't even want to leave!
