Delish vegan yum yum with lots to choose from for those who are gluten free and vegan… it’s my dream come true menu!!
Pretty decent. Got the macrobiotic bowl with garlic tempeh (tasted healthy, not mind blowing but still tasty and definitely recommend getting with the tempeh) and the corn tacos (they were fine, prob would try smth more unique next time). The service was fast and the guy who helped us was very nice. The outdoor picnic tables are super cute and they will even put up an umbrella for shade.
Delicious healthy food tainted only by slow service at the end.
Seldom does a non-vegetarian remain smitten after an all-vegan meal. I can't wait to return to indulge and check things off the menu. Cafe Gratitude might just be the perfect culmination of excellent service (thank you, Kenny!), ambiance, and food that you'd be hard-pressed to not come back for.Come for the Cauliflower Wings and Fried Mushroom. Don't leave until you've tried the Kim-chee, and remember to eat to your heart's content. Soulful food done right, with Gratitude. :)
Do you like farm to table?Well, you’re in luck! These guys are farm to table and vegan. I’m not strictly vegan, but this food tastes so yummy that if I could make all of these treats, I might change my mind. Until then, this is my spot for all my healthy eating out. Their menu is all made from scratch using local organic ingredients, and you can definitely taste it.You can dine in or pick up; they also have outdoor seating. They are very Santa Cruz inside; I love the indoor murals they painted, which give it a nice touch. My favorite is their incredible smoothie; it’s a delicious green smoothie with almond milk, bananas, spinach, kale, almond butter, vanilla, and dates. I used to stop here after hot yoga to get one of these smoothies.Check them out; they are located in downtown Santa Cruz.
Been a fan of this Cafe G since way back in the day when they were a kiosk inside of Whole Foods in Cupertino. Got to know the owner and staff really well, even keeping in touch with a few of them now over 12 years later. I genuinely thought the owner was a genuinely good dude, felt like he really radiated the vibe of Cafe G. Guess I didn't really know him, and neither did his longtime staff who he fired without actual cause recently.Normally I wouldn't leave a review like this but he fired one person in particular who I know for a fact gave him and his "family" restaurant 110% every single day for over a decade. She moved with the restaurant when they relocated, worked tons of hours and was about as loyal as an employee and friend could be.But she and a bunch of others were seemingly tossed out with the trash after all that time and dedication over a minor dispute that could've really easily been resolved. If it were me, I would've done everything I could to hold onto a staff of solid, good people who stuck by me during a pandemic and genuinely cared for my business like it was thier own. But that's just me...I believe that this crazy wrong can be made right, and those affected would be receptive even. But sadly I don't see this happening so I will not be supporting this business and I will tell others not to as well. I really hope the powers that be do something, extend an olive branch of any sort cause this whole situation is messed up.Not a way to treat employees, and definitely not a way to treat friends. And from what I hear, customers are not immune either.Bummed on you Cafe G, do better...
Downhome funky vibe. Mixed quality food. Almost everything gets some kind of (creamed) cashew sauce treatment, which gets repetitive pretty fast. And if you can't tolerate cashew, this is not a place for you. While the sauces are good, everything else is pretty meh. The kitchen execution is mediocre: polenta should be toasty, tea should be hot (else it doesn't brew - there's not even a microwave oven to reheat the tea), fried stuff should be crispy not limp from grease. Very good fried cauliflower though. Bean burger was tasty, if a bit messy to handle (runny hummus) w nice dried beets & greens for a side. The burrito special was basic bean & rice and bland. The Lavender Earl Grey Chai came lukewarm bc they added cold almond milk to the tea before the tea brewed out.Service was lackadaisical. Waiter had to be flagged down for us to get timely service.
Only vegan restaurant in Santa Cruz and they do it right. Everything fresh and flavorful. Smoothies and juices are incredible and quality consistent. Outdoor seating nice. The future is plant-based and the future is now. Worth the price. You get what you pay for. Check it.
One of my favorite restaurants in downtown Santa Cruz CA. Yes, it is a vegan restaurant but I have brought carnivores here who loved the flavor and sauces! Tonight, I had a Caesar Salad ( recommend the large order so you have lunch for the next day ) and also ordered the I am Whole bowl with 1/2 quinoa and 1/2 brown rice.I just feel so healthy and energized after eating here. The servers are very knowledgeable of the menu and are courteous. Parking is available on street or in lot across the street. Smoothies are unique and the garlic toast is amazing. Plus the desserts are to die for!!! I took a couple of shots of the murals on the walls. I hope you enjoy this gem as much as I do!!!
World class vegan food, probably the best I've had! Very healthy and very fresh. They use organic ingredients, offer unpasteurized juices, and have good ambiance. I've tried their tacos and bowls. I highly recommend.
