This place looked really promising. Creative burgers, fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the burgers were really bad for $15 burgers, heavily salted, dry, and bland. McDonald’s tastes better. Seems like it’s better as a bar than a burger place. The sliders however tasted pretty good; not worth the price and just as salty but the meat wasn’t as rubbery and dry.
I used to come here with my dad to watch Star Wars while eating burgers and drinking banana milkshakes. Since then I’ve come here several times an d never been disappointed!!! Amazing food, friendly staff and a fun atmosphere…. I love this place ( and its Jedi sliders) so much!!!! I highly recommend it!!!
We usually order a take out from here and have been satisfied with every order. For the vegetarian burger option, I prefer MikeD with some substitutions.Shoestring fries are long, thin and usually crispy. Curly fries are thicker and seasoned.I prefer shoestring fries.Garlic fries are weirdly overly smelling and I didn't like their taste either.1 burger+fries (on side) order is heavy portion in itself.Love its strawberry chocolate shake as well!
Best burgers hands down. You can get tater totts, fries, or sweet potato fries. Plus great selection of beer.
1st impression I was hesitant. Seemed like everyone's first night. But the lead bartender stepped up and displayed some good, quality customer service. In whole, probably a 7 in C.S.FOOD, was excellent. Quicker than [email protected], the bun was crisped to( not kidding) prefect- shon! Ingredients were solid for the price and tots an bf tots and tots. Also, tried a beer from Reno. Apricot milkshake sour something or other. Sippable, chuggable, and didn't finish it.Overall grade from me me my......B+ with huge potential!!!!
Idk why i did this but I bought the phatty which is two grilled cheese with a burger inside. My wife was judging me and I am still trying to burn off the cals. Anyway, classic Santa Cruz spot with modest selection of craft brew.
I would expected a bit more from a place called "burger." The menu choices were amazing. So many options to choose from. I went with the basic burger and added smoked cheddar. I wanted to taste the burger without too much burger block from the toppings. The food arrive quickly. Which was amazing since it was the middle of the lunch hour.Presentation was great! Burgers and side dish are served in a bread pan. Super cool. The bun, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions were good. Nice and fresh. The burger patty is what needed improvement. It was cooked to medium-well, which is not a problem. It wasn't rubbery or chewy. It was just dry. It was as if there was not enough fat to meat or it was sitting around for a while. Couldn't tell which it was.Another person in my group got the turkey burger. It was juicy.Fries and onion rings were fantastic. Some of the best fries i have had in a while. The lemonade is great. Get the lemonade.
Food was OK, on the expensive side. They have you scan a QR code to get the menu, but it doesn't have prices listed so be prepared for a sticker shock when you get your total.I ordered the Mike D (which is a vegetarian black bean patty), coleslaw and lemonade. The lemonade is house made but I think they forgot the sugar because it was so sour I got heartburn after two sips ?. Coleslaw was meh, the burger was OK, if overcooked. Cost for my meal alone was about $18. The total for three meals and a side of slug fries (fries covered in grilled onions and special sauce) was about $75, $88 with tip. Ouch! ??. Honestly, it's a little pretentious burger shop in the middle of Santa Cruz. I've had better at the local Mr. Frosty's in my old hometown in Nor Cal.
Have stayed in Santa Cruz for about 4 years. But it is my first time to try Burger. Tasted good and really came with huge amount. Will be good to come back and try other choices.
Ordering was pleasant. Got the food to go. The cooking staff does not know how to read or not how to prepare a hamburger well done. The patty was seared on the out side whe the inside was still uncooked. I took the patty off the sandwich and at the rest as I was not totally wasting my money. Dissatisfied totally with the food preparation.
