Food and service were excellent!
My son and wife went here and wrote the review. An upscale American Bistro with an attention to detail. They change the menu daily and combine lots of different flavors. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very engaging. They started with the old fashion and an order of oysters which were delicious so we order another round of oysters. They served them with a champagne and chili sauce. For the main course they ordered the Waygu burgers and added egg and bacon. Delicious but they wished they were served with fries. For dessert they had a classic cream brûlée and a chocolate ganache cake with edible gold on top of it. It was a very elegant dessert. Overall a great experience.
Traveling with my boyfriend to see Santa Cruz, his old college town, and we wanted a special meal during the trip. Incredible meal, incredible team at Alderwood made it the highlight of the trip. Very memorable experience Iâll tell others about.
The food that we received was delicious but it was not what was ordered. My husband had ordered an appetizer and an entree and I had ordered a Caesar salad and the Hanger Steak entree. The waiter mistakenly placed my order as a salad with the steak on top. Needless to say, my steak and my husbandâs appetizer arrived at the same time. I pointed out the error to the waiter and very little was offered to correct it and to avoid having to wait forever, I said I would eat as is. The server put a rush on my husbandâs entree. As expected by the time it arrived, my husband ate his entree while I sat there. It made for a very uncomfortable experience as we were celebrating our Anniversary and it felt like we were having two different experiences. Kudos to the chef, but at the high cost and poor service experience, I donât see a return visit.

Overall a 4.2 - Very Good. âFinâ Oysters, an apparent favorite, were briny and sweet with lovely mignonette. Burger had lovely and unusual umami flavors going. Hen of the woods and bok choy - very good. And the pasta with corn bisque and shrimp was excellent. Wine selection very good. A bit pricey. Lovely dining overall.

Mismanaged and overpriced. Have a cocktail and find somewhere else to eat.
We made a reservation for 6:45, bar seating. Arrived on time and waited until 7:25 to have our two cocktails delivered. We also had to flag down our server to order our dinner at 7:40. The restaurant was very busy and understaffed which is difficult for the staff. However, I flagged it to the Manager and basically his response was âok, thank you.â
Zach was a great waiter and the ribeye was amazing!
