Unique dining experience, similar to Benihana, but they also sell sushi which was OK. The specialty here are the grilled items (e.g. chicken + NY steak, seafood, yaki noodles). The cooking show was entertaining and executed very well. The chicken + NY steak dish was generous, 2-3 medium sized chicken breasts + about 12oz NY steak + grilled veggies (onion, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms) + mushroom soup + shrimp appetizer + steamed or fried rice (prepared in front of you). Very tasty, would eat this dish again. Service was excellent and attentive.1 star down for the cleanliness, restaurant needs to be refurbished a bit, grease outside the grilling platform and the chef's standing area was a mess (looked dirty + the electrical boxes and panels were splattered in grease). Also, the chairs were very uncomfortable after sitting for more than 1 hr, not enough padding and too narrow. Still, would recommend for the experience and grilled items taste. Sushi, not so much.NOTE: Reservations are accepted, but oddly they only accept them the day before from 11:30am. Also, if you sit in the grill area, at least half of your party's order must be grill items (vs. the majority of your party's order coming the sushi bar or appetizers from the kitchen). Lastly, if you have a birthday or special event, for $6 they can come out and do some singing and drum beating, cool add-on.
Daisy was our waitress for 6 adults and 3 young (under 9) children...she was GREAT! Order the Fire Stick role...different and spicy and the Mai Tai is like you've been transported to Hawaii!
Honestly had not had a bad time here up until recent. We made a reservation for 9, so basically an entire table, and right before we were going in my best friends baby started screaming, so we told the rest of the party to go in and I was going to try and help get the baby settled. We asked for them to hold our seats for 10 minutes. They refused, filled our seats, so my friend and I couldn't be there for her son's birthday celebration. I understand you have a wait list, but if you prefer next time that I bring a screaming baby into your restaurant I'll be more then happy to do that. So disappointed in the service we received we will not be going back.
This place my family loves a hell of a lot and I go there with him and whenever we go there it is delicious they are on point. Their beer is amazing so you should try the beer.
The food was very delicious. I ordered the seafood combo with scallops and calamari for lunch. My kids enjoyed the kid California bento box. My husband got the filet mignon with shrimp combo and he said he wishes he would've gotten more. Our cook was super friendly and very patient with our kids. He made lots of funny jokes and showed us many cool cooking tricks. Our server was also very friendly and very fast with our drinks. I definitely enjoyed myself coming here today and we will come back often.
Wow! Those gigantic balls of fried ice cream are bomb! It's tempura ice cream on the menu. I chose green- tea- flavored ice cream, fried in this yummy tempura mix. The tempura coating came out crunchy and flaky. I don't know about you, but it was flavorful and the mix of different textures was a good experience. Each ball of fried ice cream is bigger than my fist, served two of us. One order may serve 4 unless you scream for ice cream.
When we got there we got seated right away. The waiters and staff was amazing. Very kind. The food is so delicious. Everything was just fantastic. I 100% recommend going here. So much better than Mr.Sushi.
I use to live in SCV, I remember when Kisho 1st opened. It was clean, good service , and good food. We use to go often.We were visiting our kids and went to Kisho.We were stocked to see how filthy it was. They have old furniture and junk out front.When you walk in, they have junk inthe entry way. The place looks like a holder's house. So sad
