The grilled skewers are good but can be better. They can be over cooked sometimes. This place can be pretty busy.

Great little Japanese, yakitori restaurant. Had salmon, tuna, ebi, oyster mushrooms and shishitos. Staff was really friendly and really prompt service. I'll be back and recommend. The green tea brulee was really good. ????

Been coming here 12+ years and Sumiya is still the GOAT for me. Going there makes me feel like I'm back in Japan. Irasshaimase!Loved:Duck w/green onionButabara (always!!)Kalbi beef (I think I like just salt best)Scallops (so fresh)Salmon over radishMiss:I miss the salads. There used to be a great seaweed salad . I was looking for more in terms of stand alone veggies to balance all the meat. The server did tell us that they needed to cut menu items that required a lot of prep, like the salads, due to the pandemic.Service was also friendly and attentive. Arigato gozaimasu.

I like this place. Price is on the high end, and food tastes ok. Update: got diarrhea after dinner.

High quality food and reasonable price. No lunch specials here but lunch is priced very reasonably and variety of choices. I had oyako don set and my wife had had tonkatsu don set. Meal comes w appetizer and salad of your choice. Would come back to try other lunch menu.

First time return since COVID. There is a tent at the lot, so wait time is less. Menu has changed so much. Pre COVID set does not exist. Grill options are limited and no tongue. There is no physical menu. Menu is QR code and order via Toast. I missed the good old days.

Great yakitori in the South Bay. Chicken skin, tomato, and chicken thigh are a must get.

The salmon with roe over rice was delicious and the skewers were well prepared.

Very good skewers especially the chicken wings. The lunch box is quite economical.

Short version is the food was great and definitely recommend!Long version: We ordered and paid on our phone and the food came out super quick. We had salmon tataki, udon, beef intestines and a bento box. It was more than enough for 2 people. Everything was great. The only thing I wouldn't recommend was beef intestines. I generally enjoy intestines not that I don't like them. The intestines here tasted good but were too chewy and chunky.
