Tip: You get an unlimited topping. There’s macaron as topping if you ask for it as well (you can’t see it from the front counter).I prefer this location over the Cupertino one for their extra flavor options. They usually have cookies n cream, strawberry, matcha, Ube, pink guava, and milk flavors.Taiyaki is nice and crispy. They don’t give you as much filling in the taiyaki compared to a regular taiyaki, but still good!The ice-cream is lactose-free!
I went today in the afternoon and got the matcha ice cream with taiyaki with red bean filling. I heard so much about somi somi and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be another overhyped place but I liked how airy and crispy the taiyaki and how creamy the ice cream was. They paired together really well and I hope to try the ube flavor next time!
I had the guava soft serve taiyaki with custard filling and captain crunch. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend it if youre there

This was the first time that I've ever tried somisomi and I'm glad they have a location in San Jose. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and luckily there was no line. The hype was real. The waffle fish, also know as anboong, was warm and crispy with your choice of filling, and the soft-serve was flavorful and soft. We ordered an anboong upside down with Nutella filling and Oreo matcha swirl soft-serve, and milk horchata swirl soft-serve in a cup. Everything was served within 5 mins. They also asked what kind of toppings that we like before giving us our orders which was a nice touch.Overall, the dessert was delicious, price was affordable, and service was good. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back to try their other flavors.
Delicious but severely understaffed; I wanted to order more than two taiyaki but was told that I could not.
