Service and food!!!I wanted a diner with old school appeal. considering there are so many restaurants in Palo Alto, Mountain View, I was willing to drive the long 20 minutes. The reviews look promising. The potatoes were awesome the pancakes were okay. I had a veggie scramble it was again okay. The children split biscuits and gravy. Each had waffles and pancakes. The services was worth the drive as there was no party in my mouth but I won’t be hungry.
Amazing breakfast spot, one of the best high quality diner breakfasts in the Bay. Everything we ordered was a hit and the service was great.Takeout orders are packaged very well, everything was still fresh by the time we got home.Omlettes, Chicken fried steak, waffles, home fries, biscuits are all 10/10Will return to try their lunch menu and be repeat visitors for breakfast.
Sara's Kitchen is a small "diner" type location. Limited seating but decent menu. We decided to have breakfast for lunch. I had Country Sausage and Eggs and my grand kids had biscuits and gravy. The food was ample and tasty. Staff was friendly. Place was steadily busy, telling me that the locals frequent it. Some were regulars who the staff knew by name. I'm all for little places like this instead of corporate chains. I would come back again.
This is a cozy old american breakfast place. I had to wait like 5 mins to get a table on Saturday morning. Their portion size is perfect, I am glad that I was not overloaded with so much extra food. We ordered a veg omelette and a country sausage plate. It was good for two people. I'm happy that we didn't have to waste any food. It came with a toast on side with salted butter everything was so good here.. I would definitely recommend you to visit this place and encourage small business people.
2/27/2022 at 9:24am. Have been here 11/27/2016 and 1/27/2018 and never had the owner be so rude towards me. Previous recent posting shows that I am not the only person to be rudely treated.Place was not crowded. Was told to sit anywhere we wanted. Waited 5 minutes to get a menu handed for 3 people to share.Waiter took our order and did not tell us "No Substitutions". At top right corner of menu, it says "No Substitutions".The owner delivered our food. Showed her that what the waiter wrote does not match what is being served. She acted very upset at us and said "No Substitutions" and walked away.According to menu, teriyaki chicken with Asparagus comes with rice. Waiter wrote no rice substitute fries. We were expecting fries. When we try to show owner she kept saying "No Substitutions" and walked away. Not a big deal. But how about the Teriyaki Mushroom cheesesteak? We ordered Teriyaki Mushroom cheesteak. Menu says Teriyaki Mushroom cheese steak comes with rice. You serve with french roll. Owner refused to acknowledge that I got french roll. You can see in the picture, I got french roll. Also, what about mushrooms? Can you find mushrooms in the picture? Yes, I could find 2 slivers of mushrooms.Owner was rude in not wanting to listen to the fact that the food served does not match the menu or what the waiter wrote. Essentially, walks away so I had to eat what was not on the menu. I feel like I had to eat what they serve me. I did have the option to pay for the coffee and leave the food untouched since the food served did not match what was on the menu or written on the bill. See attached pictures.Never had been so rudely treated as if I wanted to take advantage of the restaurant. All I was seeking was an apology of the order misunderstanding and the waiter should have told us "No Substitutions". This would have resolved the Teriyaki chicken with Asparagus over rice. An honest mistake. I am still confused about the menu Teriyaki Mushroom cheesteak over rice. Why did I get a french roll when the menu said no french roll. Why does food not match what the menu describe? See supporting pictures
Sara's kitchen is a local dinner in Santa Clara. It is very popular and crowded for brunch over the weekend.Food is fine. I cannot say it is exceptional, your regular American fare.I had eggs Benedict, which in hindsight was probably an error. One of the not so great Hollandaise sauces I ever had.Eggs with ham steak i had before were better. But do not order pancakes. I never eat pancakes here before and they were really terrible.I know that Santa Clara is short on breakfast places, but I still do not get obsession with Sara's kitchen or Billy's for that matter.
The food was good and the servers were amazing. But the real problem is the manager/owner. The namesake of the restaraunt itself, Sara, was incredibly rude to my girlfriend. My girlfriend handed over her credit card to pay, and it was misplaced. Sara then gave my girlfriend attitude about it and ordered her to go and find it, and brushed her off. One of HER staff members misplaced the card and she was being rude to my girlfriend for it. How does that make sense? The other staff members also complained to us about their boss, saying she has such a terrible attitude. Sara really needs to understand what common courtesy and customer service, actually means. I recommend to avoid this place while that woman is working. Best to go when she is on her day off.
It was ok. Wrong food came to our table. Staff walking in store without mask, and it was super crowded, not comfortable atmosphere to start a day! She was screaming half our breakfast. But food was ok and waitresses tried to be friendly. Location is great and it just needs more cleaning and better design than fake plastic flowers and dirty table clothes.
Friendly service and good breakfast food. A smaller eatery and parking lot that has potential to get cramped. A bit outdated on the interior and could use a deep clean to brighten up the atmosphere.
Very busy place. After Bloom told us it was a two hour wait we decided to come back to our old stomping grounds. Sarah‘s kitchen never fails. Reminds me of old Santa Clara how it used to be. Don’t change anything keep it the same.
