set menu $69
This restaurant was highly recommended by a close friend who is Korean. She mentioned the authenticity of the place and reasonable pricing of the set menu.I was able to grab a reservation two months in advance in September, which ended up in November.Tip: New reservations that are two months ahead come out at midnight. They are closed Sunday and Monday, so calculate accordingly! The reservation get snatched up fast, so make sure you have the page ready to go prior to midnight! Our set menu at the time features the autumn season. We have the following -Acorn Pudding with Kimchi and Korean Pear - light and refreshing appetizerWhite Shrimp ball with Bori Shrimp on House made Gochujang Sauce - These were so delicious, shrimps were fresh and gochujang sauce added a nice kick!Jjimdak Style Chicken with Autumn Vegetables - this was so good! they had both white and dark meat and I honestly have never had chicken breast that was as tender and juicy as this.Chestnut Ice Cream with Horchata Veil - loved the asian flavor ice cream!Wagyu Rib-eye cab (add-on) - we probably didn’t need to order this add-on as we were pretty full by the end of the meal but this was really good as well. The wagyu was buttery and rich, the amount was perfect for two.Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Restaurant Gish. I will definitely come back again, just need to stay awake till midnight to make reservation!
Went to celebrate a belated Valentine's. Definitely one of the best food in the area. Great food & service! The duck liver pate is top notch! The desert was also very refreshing and not too sweet. The Angus was a little too well-done for my liking but over all I loved the place. Will definitely go again, looking forward to the monthly menus :)
Was able to finally get a reservation to dine here. Food didn't disappoint, service was great, food price was very reasonable. Wife and I really enjoyed it. Menu changes monthly. They seat twice a day. Only down side is if you wanted to hang out you probably can't cause they have to prepare for the next group. It's a small venue seats maybe 20ish people. I wished it was easier to get reservations here. I'd like to see what they offer every month. Bar seating looked like it would be fun cause your can watch them prepare your food.
Been here twice already, and this place is phenomenal. The menu changes every month, and is always unique, delicious, and the portions aren't as stingy as other artsy places. The price is also reasonable, and the service is warm and friendly. Diamond in the rough if I ever did see one.
We were here to enjoy some asian fine dining sets and they managed to deliver at decent prices. The food and the combination are very creative. I've tasted a nice sweetness from fresh tomatoes and a slight touch of vinegrette sour excited your pallets. The fish dish sauce is really good, but the fish is not as flavorful. However, I still highly recommend anyone trying this place.
THE MOST underrated restaurant in the Bay Area. Great ambiance, friendly staff, and delicious food. Most importantly, the four-course meal is priced very reasonably at $59 (as of Nov ‘21). I had to make myself another reservation before leaving the restaurant!
Home style Korean restaurant, feels so cozy like home. They do only have around 18 seat per round, and have 2 round per night. I love their monthly menu, will definitely come back for next menu too. Their menu will change monthly and all depends on seasonal ingredients, so everything are fresh.
Really good ambience, very nice and responsive chefs and staff, really enjoyable experience overall. Recommend!
My former favorite restaurant used to be in this space. Maybe this spot only attracts creativity and food magic. It's a different experience, come with an open mind. The menu changes monthly. The ingredients are fresh. The dishes are satisfying and playful.October's main entree was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I'm still dreaming about the cinnamon syrup that was part of dessert. The only downside is that I can't eat gluten. Husband did not mind. He ate what I could not. I got lucky this month, there was plenty I could eat. It's tricky to plan and get a reservation. But if you don't have any allergies and are adventurous it is worth it.
