I went today around noon with a friend and we both got the original king. My friend just chose the chef's recommended while I chose all of the chef recommended levels but went with thick noodles instead of the recommended thin. The thick noodles were delicious and had that perfect qq texture. The broth was rich without being overbearingly rich and fatty. The chashu was fatty but cut thinly and extremely tender. The flavors were balanced. The service was fast and overall just had a really good time. This is actually my second time going to this Ramen Nagi, and I will say that it's better to go at noon-afternoon for lunch as opposed to dinner.
We lucked out as there was not much of a line when we were at the mall around 6 pmTried the veggie ramen , we were told the broth is cauliflower base with misoIt was delicious. The people at the front of the restaurant were extremely friendly and gave us some tips on how to order , spice level etcThey are Tokyo based and have only three locations in the USAPolite and friendly staff , food is really good and you can customize it to your preferencesFood is served within minutes of seating
My wife and I came to this place after realizing that Din Tai Fung has a long hour and a half wait and the Nordstrom ramen restaurant was replaced. While waiting 15 minutes, the hostess provided the menu to pre-select our customizable ramen. I ordered the squid ink ramen and my wife ordered the original Miso ramen, which were both delicious. The only thing I thought was weird was they did not serve hot tea because all their beverages are either canned or bottled.
Decent ramen, attentive waiters, long wait. Overall the process getting in was good. There is usually a line outside, but they give you a paper menu so you can prepare the order. For it's price the ramen itself didn't fill me up compared to other ramen spots, you can add more noodles to compensate though, but by default, it wasn't quite enough. The kaarage was bland and had to be carried by the tomatoes.Good to check-out once if you haven't tried because of the hype, but probably not a spot I'll actively choose since food was okay and a long wait.
Line here is always super insane. I ate here once with my friend, it was pretty good but I wouldn't say I lost my mind over it. Probably because the line takes away some of the enjoyment. I love adding garlic though.
Finally tasted their Ramen on Monday noon time. Felt surprised that even on Monday, there was a line to wait. Luckily, one person only waited for 10 minutes. Their serving was super fast, within 5 minutes. I chose black king, which was indeed super black as shown in picture. Squid ink looked interesting to me. Overall, the soup broth was great! Chashu was tender and tasty. There were also some minced ground meat, colored in black, but tasted super good. Hopefully next time I can be back and try other options.
I've been to their Palo Alto location multiple times, and had never been disappointed, so decided to give this new location a try on my day off.Arrived ~11:15am on a Friday, and already there was a long line out the door. I came prepared and was ok with the ~25min wait. Still wish they give you a number and allow you to wander off in the mall though, it is in the middle of the shopping mall after all. Nevertheless. I was seated and served my piping hot bowl of ramen quickly. It does not disappoint! Just as good as the PA location. I got the Red King with a soft boiled egg, and the flavor was on point! Again I was reminded the "level 1" spicy here is actually medium in most restaurants. I devoured the bowl in no time, and took the rest of the broth home.Definitely recommend! Just be ready for the wait and it will not disappoint!
Ramen Nagi never fails to perform anywhere they go. Their ramen is so authentic and tastes very similar to the ones I had in Japan. Broth is rich, noodles are firm, and the meat is tender. I get hungry just thinking about it. I came here on a Sunday at 12pm and although the line seems long, the service is fast. I only waited less than 40 minutes fully expecting it to be a 2 hour wait. The servers are so attentive and friendly despite how busy they are. This is hands down the best ramen in the Bay Area, uncontested. Also, besides the main point, I've tried their Chicken Kaarage and it was so juicy. And the aioli sauce was so on point I wish they gave more. Give it a try!
We went on a Thursday night for dinner. The place had a queue as expected. We waited for 30 mins. Got a table inside and we ordered the veggie king and the original king. All of us tried the vegetarian versions. We liked the veggie king a lot, the broth was delicious! The original king had hash brown cake which was crunchy and added an element of texture to the dish. Service was good too.Overall, satisfied with the taste and will go back to try other items.
I waited 2.5 hrs and it was worth it. Ramen was delicious, I would recommend getting the egg and extra meat. If you are really hungry also go for the extra ramen too. I wish I ordered less oil as normal oil was a bit too oily for me to drink all of the soup.
