Father’s Day lunch! We had no reservations. We figured 2pm for a late lunch, we'd be okay. The associate hesitated, looked at my attire, looked over her book, looked around the open tables, looked back at her book, looked at my attire again (grandpa shirt), and finally picked up some menus and led us to a nice table. Four minutes standing and waiting felt longer than it was, but you had to be there. The food was the usual - phenomenal! The dessert was outstanding! The service was great (Thank you Jeff!) PS I had just come from Church and my shirt was clean. So I know I was presentable. ?

I was at Il Fornaio for a business dinner and frankly, did not enjoy it at all. The place was packed and crowded. No way to ensure social distancing. No vaccine cards were checked at the door. It was extremely loud, which meant having to scream to carry a conversation. The food was OK, but nothing memorable. The seafood pasta was good, mostly because it was fresh pasta (albeit machine made). Just some Italian staples. I see no reason to come here again.
Business dinner in the patio. Short of one type of beer, short of another. SHorf of one Pasta, short on caponata as a side dish but not enthusiast in substituting it with a mozzarella. These are fallen standards to me.
I was there today for the 1st time to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. I love the relaxed and elegant atmosphere. I would like to give a shout out to our server Jeff! He surprised us with a slice of tiramisu with 2 candles on it, what thoughtful gesture! Thank you very much!

Great birthday diner last night
I really loved the food here. I'm usually not a fan of Italian food with heavy sauces and cheese. We ordered calamari, minestrone soup and Capelleni pasta. They all tasted great, with fresh vegetables, and homemade simple sauces. Not the overpowering tomato, cheese and heavy cream taste I associated with Italian food. This restaurant is a must try.
