Charcoal Korean BBQ. If you can find this anywhere else in South Bay, pls let me know.Until then, I'll stick with Han Sung as my new favorite kbbq joint. The banchan is plenty, the complimentary soup is fantastic, and the meats are definitely delicious. This restaurant is quiet and unassuming. I find most kbbq places lately to be too loud and bright. Maybe I'm getting old. ? Either way, the food here speaks for itself. Try the galbi and beef tongue. I like the marinade they use for the galbi, since it's pretty light on soy sauce (I feel like it tends to burn and turn bitter quickly). The staff grills your meats for you, so you can focus on chowing down. They give you complimentary sikhye at the end of your meal to cool off your palate!Parking is extremely easy here, since there's not much else going on in this plaza, unfortunately.
Hansung BBQ is very underrated Korean BBQ place. Their charcoal grill is pretty unique in this area. They take care of your meat, and the service is attentive and careful. The cold noodle is pretty good and great for dessert, though it's not a kind of sweet dessert. They are very proud of their Champing which is spicy seafood noodle. The price is very reasonable too. I really have no idea why this place isn't as popular as other Korean barbecue places, and why those Korean friends of me prefer other places I really have no idea. It's a hidden gem.
I don't usually post a rating unless the food/service experience is exceptional or the opposite. Unfortunately, this one is on the opposite side, a horrific one. Bottom line, I will never come here again nor will I recommend it to anybody. My experience here will be the topic of all the conversations with everyone I know.I reserved a room for a large group of 15, confirmed 3 times and I was assured I have the room. But we were seated in the general seating area. Their explanation was that there was a miscommunication. I was puzzled because I confirmed the same day but I thought it could happen.I ordered 10 portions of marinated beef short ribs and some other dishes and the servers grilled the meat at our table. The cooked meat I was given tasted sour. I thought it was just me. But soon after, more than half of the group said the meat tasted sour. I notified the server and the owner but they claimed that the meat is fresh and that we're being overly sensitive. They brought out another batch of meat for us to try but the it was the same. The meat was definitely bad and not sellable. The owner should've known, but even if she wasn't aware, she should've been more attentive to the customers claim that their food might be bad. But rather, she decided to ignore our feedback and walked away. I have invited my closest friends and family but the dinner was ruined. I felt terribly embarrassed to have chosen such a horrific place for what had to be the happiest night. We left half the meat but I paid the full price including the tip. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone! You may be eating trash :(
I came in to have a dinner with my family and I was completely mortified. The food is so-so at best, but I was absolutely filled with disgust and enraged at the service of ladies working there. Even if coming to the restaurant at closing hour is not a good excuse to take their stress out on their paying customers. They were curt and had a foul mouth. I can safely say that I will never dine in this subpar establishment ever again, you could pay me to eat here and I’d still walk away.
Great ambience for friends, families, and dates.. yummy Korean casual food from noodles to bbq with health in mind. Definitely my newly discovered jewel in town.. ^&^
This is our go-to place for bulgogi! The restaurant served charcoal BBQ mostly but you can order bulgogi made from kitchen. Very tender and well-marinated, served with lettuce, sauce and others, $36 per serving but you can taste the difference. Pancake and beef soup with napa is just ok.
I have dine in many Korean BBQ restaurants, but this is the first time I experienced the worst customer service ever. Probably we are not native Koreans and speaking same languages with them, we got different treatment from the rest customers whom dining there. We asked more kimchi, fish cake side dished but the lady kept denying our requests. This is the 1st and last time we will eat there. NEVER AGAIN
Good service and tasty meats but I don't feel it's worth the price. Each order of meat is quite pricey and though the quality is good I don't think it's good enough to justify how expensive it is compared to the numerous AYCE places that have comparable taste and many more options. We ordered the wagyu ribeye steak ($49), prime brisket ($28.99), and pork belly (27.99). The ribeye and brisket were both really good. I especially liked the ribeye which was super tender, juicy, and melts in your mouth. But I wasn't super impressed with the pork belly which won't be directly grilled on your grill unless you order 2+ and just tasted like any other pork belly you could order for cheaper elsewhere. The difference I guess is the meat here is cooked with a charcoal grill.
Love the food. I don't mind the price. But I do hate that the server always rushes me to order, pushes me to order a lot and to eat fast. Only after I've ordered enough to feed the entire restaurant, which came out mostly at the same time, and they're getting done with their frenzied cooking, they smiled and told me to relax and take my time. Everything was cooked faster than I could eat. That's no way to enjoy my food. My past experience was the same, except it was a lot busier then.Restaurants wouldn't dare do that back home, even if they had to change out the charcoal over the meal. Such a shame this place totally misses the mark on that part of Korean BBQ experience. I miss being able to sit down, order a couple cuts of meat at a time, and being able to savor each type of meat over my drink and conversation.I'll probably come back next time I need my BBQ fix. But I'll put my foot down harder and try to control the pace. (The server just walked away when I tried to explain what I wanted, saying that I needed to order more and up front.) Will see how they do. Really. The food is great. I'd be here more often if I didn't feel like their paycheck everytime I came.
This spot was such a treat! Well worth the visit.- Super attentive and quick service- Delicious food with good portion sizes- Real charcoal BBQ at your table!Looking forward to my next visit.
