This is a cozy eastern european(Bosnian if I recall correctly) restaurant in an unassuming strip mall. There aren’t a lot of tables inside, but they do have some outdoor seating.I ordered a Goulash, a Mani Cevapi and a Cockta soda. It took the kitchen some time to prepare this order, but IMO it was well worth the wait.I had been looking for places that serve Goulash for the past few days. It was instigated by this one episode on Curb lmao. The dish was prepared very well, it was homely, the beef was soft, and the accompanying bread/rice was very complementary. The Cevapi was an interesting dish as well. It is a bunch of sausages, served in a lepina(flatbread) with sour cream and ajvar(relish). It was new to me, and I enjoyed the concept, as well as the taste. The restaurant felt like a mom and pop operation, and I enjoyed the warmth of the owners. It’s a no brainer to try out this place if you are on the lookout for ethnic food.10/10 would go back!
Delicious food! If you are vegan or dining with one, call ahead (the day before) and they can make sure they have vegan options. I had two very satisfying varieties of burek (tofu + spinach, potato) with ajvar. Large portions, great prices, and a fun variety of specialty drinks!
We just went here for lunch for the first time and absolutely loved it! Everything tasted delecious and fresh. Portions were generous as well. The bread was amazing. Can't believe we haven't come across this place before but will definitely be back soon. There's plenty of parking in the lot.
Went there for lunch for the first time. Beef goulash was on special so I ordered it with creamy mashed potatoes. It was fabulous! Rich, complex flavors and it came with a loaf of delicious lepina bread, soft as a pillow. Generous portions at a reasonable price and the staff couldn't have been nicer.
Such a wonderful meal. Great to experience great down-home food, from a home a world away. This is not food you are gonna find in most restaurants. The combination covers a lot..and it is a lot of food! The prices are quite reasonable! Don't go in when you're in a rush. Good food takes a little time to make and some time to enjoy. Make a nice afternoon of it. Afterwards, stop into the little store 2 doors over for some other regional treats & ingredients.
Really enjoyed dining here. The food was delicious and reminiscent of childhood times with family. The spinach and cheese burek was a real standout! The dining area is cozy and was always full. The owner/staff were so welcoming and kind which made the experience even more enjoyable.
A fantastic halal east European restaurant in Santa Clara. The place is simple and charming with decorations representative of the Bosnian community. Really homely vibe and down to earth people. We really liked the combination plate which include cevapi (sausages of various types served on a soft round bread sandwich which was extra tasty because of the fats it had absorbed), chicken skewers and an interesting chutney or red sauce. Enough for two hungry people. Also tried the spinach and cheese pastry which was hot, fresh and flaky. The cheese was only mildly tarty and gave a very unique flavor.Keen to return and try other items on the menu as well. The place seems really popular.
Amazing! The moment I stepped in the door, I was hit with a rich delicious smell. We ordered the garlic bread and stuffed mushroom appetizers. Unnecessary because the entrée sizes are very generous! Everything tasted delicious. We ended the meal with a Turkish coffee and stopped next door at the European market for some dessert/chocolates.
Such an amazing place! Servers are always kind, food is fresh and delicious! I do wish they would bring back the cold cut platter though... I've had just about everything on the menu and love it all. Can't say enough good things about this place.
I am Mexican and this was the first time trying Bosnian food. This restaurant hit the spot. The chicken soup and pita were delicious!!! On a cold day, it would come clutch. The sausages were also good. Highly recommend this place!
