I was excited to go to this famous Chinese world franchise restaurant. However, it's kind of disappointing. The taste is average, even the local Chinese restaurant can make it. The most famous dish is their Xiao Long Bao. I had it in Taiwan and Beijing, but here I will only give it a C.The price is $$$. Prepare it before you go. But the service I should give it a A.
The resturant was packed and we had to wait to get into the bar WAITLIST. When it was our turn, one person from our party went to the restroom so the hostess Angelica let the party behind me to join the “waitlist” before us. And then out of nowhere, three guys popped up and joined the waitlist ahead of us. I understand why everyone has to be present to be seated. But don’t understand why they have to if just to join the waitlist. If I cannot “wait” for the waitlist, then make it a policy and let use know. Not be telling us we can first and then say we can’t.
The only reason you don’t try their food is because you can’t get reservation.XLB is a must-order and everyone knows that. Fried pork chop over fried rice is also very good.I had their beverage at Vegas location and also worthy to try.
I love this place! The atmosphere is incredible and the wait staff is very knowledgeable and polite. That doesn't even touch on how amazing the food is here! The food came soon after we ordered it and is always amazing quality. One warning: the line to get in can be quite long, so book a reservation or make sure you get to the restaurant with plenty of time to spare before you want to eat. The wait is completely worth it!
Simply wonderful experience. I loved the food. My friends had been telling me to try the soup dumplings from here for some months now and it did not disappoint.Hard to get a booking, but thankfully found something late at 9 in the midweek. Would definitely go there again and a few more times. The waiters were pretty courteous and helpful as well.
We had such a good experience! I was able to reserve online a couple weeks before we went. All the staff members were super nice! We got the mango and lychee slush with bobas in the mango slush. The cucumber salad was very refreshing. The pork XLB was so delicious! We were contemplating getting another tray of those. The veggie and pork buns were our least favorite item. It was lacking in flavor but still not too bad. The noodle in the spicy sauce was also one of our favorite items. We also got the veggie and pork wontons in spicy sauce but again the veggie and pork filling is lacking flavor. We finished off our meal with the chocolate mocha XLB and they were delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
The overall experience was amazing. Strongly recommend to make a reservation for this plqce. Walk-in are allowed however the seating would be at the bar. The staff is courteous, friendly and quick in getting your order. They are helpful if you are dining for the first time at DTF. The ambience of the place is pleasant. I like this place because the dishes and the taste represent the culture of the Chinese/Taiwanese. We ordered the soup dumplings(XLB). The spicy wontons with chicken were amazing and full of flavor. The noodles with spicy sauce was average. Would recommend to try the fried rice. The desserts are amazing at this place. We had the chocolate and mochi XLB. The chocolate melted in the mouth. Pure bliss. Do not miss ordering the DTF old fashioned. Top notch. On the expensive side but worth the experience. Lot of vegan and gluten free options on the menu. Strongly recommended.
One of my best Taiwanese/Chinese restaurant. I used to go to this chain in Singapore. When I moved to California, I visited din tai fung Santa Clara. Menu /authenticity is same as Singapore. My favorite: Soup dumplings and spicy chilli noodles . Loved this place.Highly recommended
Always worthy the wait. Between the dumplings, wontons, and buns, what’s not to like? And their new special, the wagyu black pepper tenderloin, is amazing. As soft and tender as fish with the flavor of the juiciest steak you’ll ever eat. Highly recommend…everything.
I was really looking forward to trying Din Tai Fung, but i have to say that i left a bit disappointed. To begin, it seems like their online reservation system is broken as dates are instantly filled up a month in advance, yet a lot of walk-ins were being taken. Let's talk about the menu: first, our drinks were extremely disappointing. I had the Lychee Mojito and my friend had the Lychee Martini, both lacked any flavor of spirits and were overall dull in taste besides sweetness. The food was overall ok, but you can definitely find comparable quality for much cheaper prices at other spots around town. The one highlight has to be the chocolate baos for dessert, those were out of this world. The shrimp and pork potstickers were also quite good. Overall, this spot is ok, but not worthy of the high price tags and hype in my opinion.
