Love this place! Fish is always fresh and staff is super friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend this place!

I ordered lunch take out from Amakai. The food is really good, and not very expensive. I ordered beef teriyaki bento. The taste of the teriyaki sauce is little bit sweet. Beef is grilled just about the right time ( not too chewy and not too raw). The rice is Japanese rice, I like it! Gyoza is deep fried, so it’s crispy outside. Miso soup is as expected. I would come back again and try sashimi or roll on my next visit.
Just picked up my order. Is this $32 plus tax worthy Chirashi? I’ve tried several places as I love Chirashi, but this is No No. Never gonna order it here again. Worst ever.
From the NYC-NJ area and this place is up there with probably one of the freshest sushi that I've ever had. The only downside was that they were short staffed and had to wait a bit. There were signs all over the restaurant informing of the staff shortage and to expect longer than normal wait times. They handled what they could during the lunch hour rush. Pretty good sushi. Would come back here again when I come back to the area.
They don't claim to specialize in it, but I find their spicy tonkatsu ramen to die for; I get it every time now, usually paired with some veggie tempura. Their sushi rolls are very decent as well.
Service, atmosphere, prices, fish, and tea were all fine. Problem is the rice was absolutely terrible, worst place I have gone to in recent memory. Very dry and vinigeary. Since this was the start of the dinner, my guess is they used leftover rice from lunch. While that probably saved a buck it cost them a future customer.
Typical but not impressive.The only reason I am here is that I don't want to wait 30 minutes for food in Hironori.
Pretty good. Got the sashimi and rainbow roll. I wish the sashimi came with a side of rice but that is extra. Otherwise the fish is fresh and tastes good! I will be back!
I had dinner here for 3 nights in a row and it was awesome sushi. Try the rose garden roll - wow. The staff recognized me and really paid personal attention- it’s truly a family restaurant
