After seeing so much hype about this place, I had to try it out! The heart-shaped falafels are super cute and they fry them fresh when you order! The texture is honestly just okay though. Each falafel is dense, and not very crispy or fluffy. The flavor is overall nutty and delicious with rice. Next time I'll try it in the wrap!Everything is complimentary with your dish, but I do notice that they tend to be a bit inconsistent with their portions. For example, my rice plate had much more hummus than my boyfriend's rice plate.My favorite was the Achilles Spread! I can see why it's their house specialty. It's very creamy, fluffy, and tangy. A hint of garlicky flavor in there too. Very delicious. The hummus was also really delicious, but it tastes strongly of citrus. Pretty sour... but in a good way. Not your typical hummus.We also ordered some waffle fries (a bit expensive for $5), but they fry them fresh when you order too!PRO TIP: Dip your waffle fries in the hummus! Sounds strange... but it was strangely addicting.Since this is a TAKEOUT ONLY spot, we took our food and had a picnic at Henry Schmidt Park down the street. It was a great date idea :)
Pricey takeout that's otherwise pretty average but generous portions. Fast service.They deliver on their promise but don't offer much beyond that.You're going to find your staple Mediterranean food here from gyro to chicken schwarma and falafel. A plate is going to set you back 18 (2 dollars more than sandwiches).The food quality is decent: fresh, well seasoned, but nothing particularly standout. The meat is good.
Combo beef and Achilles chicken bowl ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: meat was tender and the hummus and baba ganoush were delicious. For extras I would recommend not getting everything because it does get to be a bit much.Falafel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: cute heart shaped falafel that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Out of the 7-8 falafel I've tried in bay area I have to say these are the best I've had. A lot of other places are either dry or they crumble when you eat them but not here!
Achilles is an excellent casual restaurant who's owner is socially minded and generous. On numerous occasions they've given me an extra order of dolma for free when I buy one and bring a friend, and I've seen them feeding the hungry who come to them. If you want good food quickly while supporting your community, there's no better place to go.

I am a vegetarian and my friends recommended this place. Though its couple of blocks away from my place, I never got a chance to try Achilles food. I always saw people enjoying their meals in their outdoor seating area; when I pass by that place (it’s located at Newhall Winchester crossing, so easily visible) and knew I am going to try it someday for sure. I am glad that my friends appreciated their food so much that I had to try it the very next day. I can bet that all menu items must be awesome depending on the taste I had in falafel pocket sandwich. If you order falafel pocket sandwich and don’t have any allergies, always go for everything in it from their complementary options because thats how it goes for yummy taste. Waffle fries are the must try.It has my heart now and I recommend everyone to give it a shot for the best Mediterranean food I had in bay area.
Food is always delicious. Never had a bad experience. Always a pleasant experience with the staff and you can tell they all click/have chemistry. Santa Clara gem and hope they stay in business for a long long long time.
The regular fries were very good, as was the hummus. The rest of the food was good, but the gyro didn't have much flavor. The food should have been hotter, as we picked up on time and it is less than half a mile from home.
I ordered a pocket sandwich with beef and chicken but there was no taste at all to the “sandwich”. The beef and chicken had the same taste as the pita… I had a side of tzatziki which was ok-ish and a side of of olives which came straight out of a can without any taste as well. There was no filling in the sandwich in the form of some lettuce or herbs. I like mediterranen flavors because of all the spices and taste in the disses, but this was a total disappointment for 22 bucks ….. 22 bucks…..
Absolutely delicious - I have eaten here at least a dozen times. Build your own plate or wrap. Great flavors and good sized portions.
