BEST Italian spot in town!!! I find it hard to find some decent food ever since I moved here, but this is our new spot! been here multiple times this week and will continue to support this amazing restaurant. Great food, kind staff, perfect! 10/10
Went with a group of 6 people, we all loved it. I had very good pumpkin ravioli in sage butter, and a really delicious piece of Tiramisu.
My sister and I ate there twice. It was really good. We had the same waitress, Laura, who is having a baby boy in 12 weeks. She was so sweet! The second time we were there, we were the last customers. She said take our time! Would highly recommend this restaurant. The pasta with vodka sauce is amazing!
Infinite 5-stars to Via Maestra! We hosted our rehearsal dinner at this gorgeous trattoria on 4/29 and everything was EXCELLENT! Working with George and Laura was a dream, perfect communication and service from start to finish. The food was DELICIOUS and very authentic. As someone that's part Italian and has travelled extensively through Italy, I can say with certainty that this is as close as it gets to a true Italian dinning experience. All of our family and friends were so impressed by the ambiance, service and food/wine. Our favorites were the homemade lasagna, the bucatini all'amatriciana and the tiramisu (sooooo yum!!!). I LOVE Via Maestra and cannot wait to be back! Thank you Laura and George for making our rehearsal dinner so special!
The food was very good. Our waitress always had service on her mind, and did well in suggestions for wine.
This used to be my favorite restaurant. Biting into a rock and the entire staff, especially the owner being completely shady and unapologetic about it has left me with the decision to never go back. And sadly, the delicious food and amazing service is gone. I called multiple times before I was a le to talk to the owner a week later and he was extremely rude and defensive right off the bat. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant and I am the last person to complain or leave a bad review. But this is unreal. Veggie lasagna was obviously frozen. Looked grey inside and wasn’t hot in the middle. I will mourn the real Via Maestra 42 that gave me wonderful experiences consistently when the old owner was in charge.
We always love grabbing a meal at Via Maestra. Since we live in the neighborhood, we walk over. 3pm always seems a good time to go, even on a Saturday. The outdoor dining area is accommodating with well spaced tables and ceiling heaters, but you will be subject to the noise of State St.A side note: All the servers share service to your table. I always find that a little disconcerting, especially in a restaurant this small, but your table won't be forgotten.
The food is fair..The atmosphere is charming. The place used to have a very friendly staff but now with a change of ownership the staff was very surly and not friendly. Music was way too loud and strange. They over charged me and would not remove the overcharge...so the entire experience was not good....the place used to be so much better and they used to care about their customers. The new ownership could do a lot with this place if they really put some energy into it. They need to try a little harder, Starting with good customer service and more friendly staff..

I went at the recommendation of an acquaintance. I took my mother and Aunt. When our food was brought to our table, we asked if we could have butter. Our server literally rolled his eyes and then informed us they only provide butter for dinner (we were there for lunch). We ordered a coke with little ice; when he brought it, it was filled with ice. We needed lemon, but he walked away so quickly that we didn't even have a chance to ask. We felt compelled to ask him if WE had done anything to offend him or if WE had been appropriate in any way (because of his attitude towards us), he explained that he just has a sarcastic personality! You've been informed. Food was okay.
