Food was amazing and service excellent
Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch has been one of our favorite restaurants for over 20-years. Our most recent visit was disappointing. Service was slow and inattentive. One entre was cold and had to be redone. It appears that many of the staff is new. Covid impacted Stonehouse.
One of the most exquisite dining experiences one can have. First rate service, table side preparations, lovely location and perfect menu for a luncheon.
Wonderful lunch with friends visiting from out of town. Roberto was gracious and prepared a tasty smoked blood orange margarita. The bananas foster was a treat to watch.

Can't say enough about Stonehouse. Beautiful setting, fantastic service. Has been 20 years since last visit and it has not lost any of it's luster. Can't wait to return. We had oysters, peach salad, famous ribs, Steak Diane(flamed tableside) and chocolate souffle. All truly delicious and great cocktails in bar too. Great special occasion spot, very romantic, beautiful grounds. Highly recommend
Beautiful old house with beautiful portrait oils. Immaculately clean. We ate on the terrace but without a view of the gardens, but the area was exceptionally pleasant. The service was awful. We ordered drinks. Twenty minutes later, I complained to the busboy who got the order filled immediately. We ordered coffee after the meal. Same scenario. The waiter either forgot to relay the order or something else happened. The busboy got the order filled immediately. The food was like any moderate-priced restaurant, meaning salads for, say, $12, and entrees running from $13 to $45. Probelm was, even at lunch, the prices were considerably more. We left annoyed with the poor service and food that was not much different from other restaurants, meaning it lack unusual seasoning, unusual juxtapositions, and artful presentation. I think other area restaurants charging high prices would maybe not provide as beautiful a house and location but considerably more interesting cuisine.
What a wonderful place! The service the hospitality was from beginning to end. I was even given it to another seller which I'm a big fan of wine and really appreciate it. We had lunch and the food was exciting with a little bit of a twist here and there on their take on the dishes. Definitely a place to go to we will be back.
Exceeded expectations for a really lovely lunch on the patio, followed by a stroll in the gardens. Looking forward to returning for dinner one evening.
Superb at all levels and the outdoor patio is enchanting.
