The drinks are good here but it’s not worth being harassed. Nearly every interaction I’ve had with their staff (besides at the bar) has been aggressive and rude. Last year, when I politely called to ask if people under 21 could enter the person who answered the phone was incredibly demeaning. I then politely asked if they offered a happy hour (they did not at the time) and the man rudely informed me that “they’d restart happy hour when they could afford rent.” Of course I totally understand the stress of the pandemic and I didn’t have any expectations for either question, but the interaction made me feel so bad for even calling.Fast forward to this year, and now TWICE the bouncer has refused two of my friends with Real IDs for completely arbitrary reasons and gotten aggressive about it. At this point it’s just kind of embarrassing because now he’s 0 for 2. I’d honestly love to come hang out at Wine Therapy - good drinks and fun customers - but I’m not really down to get harassed.
I have tried on three separate occasions to go here, yet every time I have been denied access because someone in my party has a “fake” ID. Many of my friends have just turned 21 and are excited to go out for the first time, only to be denied service. (Who on earth would have a fake vertical ID?) When asked what the reasoning was for denying my friend, the bouncer got very aggressive and got in my friends face and started swearing at him. We felt harassed and unsafe. Please hire better bouncers. This guy is turning away so much service.
Hadn’t had a sip of alcohol before I was 21 and went out for my 21st birthday with all my friends and was turned away from the bouncer after showing a real ID. I politely said, “Sir, this is a real ID”.He got extremely aggressive at us and was unnecessarily rude and swore at my friend after we told him he has done this before to my other friend who also has a real ID! Absolutely ridiculous.
Bouncer turned away three different people with actual IDs over 21 for having “too good a picture.” Got rapidly aggressive with each one and scared us.
Would give it zero stars if I could. Wrong location, wrong menu, no one picking up the phones. Basically it’s just cruisery now. Avoid.
many thought that wine therapy closed for good, then it seemed as though they moved behind cruisery. the truth is that with the move wine therapy died. wine is not the same, menu is not the same (NO CHARCUTERIE anymore) and for all the heaters they have NOT A SINGLE ONE WORKS. If you want to sit outside in the cold and be completely ignored by the staff while drinking the cruiserys drinks this is the place for you! RIP wine therapyedit in response to owner: while i’m sure this would have been a much better experience once you are fully moved over, i still had a bad experience and you frankly shouldn’t have even been open if you weren’t ready to provide the full experience (at the very least propane!? or a BYOP sign maybe?)
They are closed, BUT THEY MOVED TO 501!Just a few minutes walking, its name is “The Cruisery”. Sangria is not the same though :(
Found this spot on my walk w/ my pooch in Downtown SB. Must say this place has real good vibes to just sit, relax, and sip on some wine or beer. Of note, the like dogs more than humans lol. I was able to sit indoors w/ my pup. The bar keep was helpful and made some good recommendations. I'll be back for more wine therapy in the near future.
Rudest barman I ever did encounter. Guy with fluffy blond hair. Sensationally rude.
Great place. Great vibes. The wine selection is awesome. The froses (rose wine slushies) are delicious! Highly recommend
