We enjoyed the atmosphere--only a few tables and attentive staff. We had the veal and the steak and both were excellent French cuisine at a reasonable price
Came during a slower lunch. I appreciate that it was only one team member running the service that it took more time; however, I was a bit disappointed he served me last after two other customers entered after… Soup was amazing, lunch entree was great for value although a bit of flavour lacking. Really nice ambiance and friendly service (after) but the overall experience left a bit to be desired. I loved how locals checked in with the team like they were family and raved about the quality of the food, I am sure it was undoubtedly but unfortunately just missing that experience this one seating. Maybe next time, still not to miss trying!
We hit tiny Petit Valentien for a quick lunch. The place was busy which is nice to see. The room is decorated in a French Bistro style. It’s comfortable for a date or smaller party of friends. The beet salad, fish and steak crostini were all good if not particularly memorable. Our server did the best he could given that they were short-staffed the day we visited. He warned us the service might be slow which we found admirable. All in, we would consider returning to Petit Valentien. It’s a nice little change from the typical downtown tourist restaurant.
Amazing breakfasts! Nice vibes.
Excellent restaurant!Very professional service. The steak was delicious with a terrific sauce and my sea bass was also delicious. We ate outside and it was very quiet and romantic.
some of the best food i've had in santa barbara. authentic and delicious!
We loved this restaurant! It is in a beautiful part of downtown Santa Barbara. The food was very French and excellent. My husband loved his steak and my sea bass was delicious. The woman who helped us was so gracious and made our evening even more special. For a memorable evening in Santa Barbara this is the place to go!
4+ Stars. Wonderful spot for a nice meal in an old world European setting. We have lunch weekly here and they have a number of lunch specialities at very reasonable prices. My favorite is the Petrale Sole with lemon and capers which is absolutely delicious. They offer inside and outside seating and lunch is served from 11:30 until two. They specialize in French Cuisine during weekdays and evenings and Ethiopian Cuisine on weekends. There are also open during the evening from 5:30-8:00 and have a nice wine selection. Great food at reasonable prices in a cozy atmosphere makes for a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended.
This hidden gem is well worth seeking out. Happily this romantic little bistro tucked in the Arcade at the corner of Figueroa and State with consistently delicious food is slowly returning to pre-Covid. They have a full bar, a well rounded wine list and a reasonably priced menu that includes something for every diet. The heated courtyard seating is dog friendly too.
Best spot to get some food when in a hurry. Their customer service is rapid, prices are fair, good ambience. Will come visit again
