Been here over a dozen times because it’s right next to my house, beers alright and foods decent, but last time I cruised they refused to accept my ID. It’s out of state, but it’s definitely real and anyone whose paid to determine that should know that. People working were testosterone infused, amateur, and rude about the whole situation. Go to institution a few places over for better beer, food, and vibes.
I have been a frequent customer of M.Special, but after last night I never want to go there again. The manager, Tori, confiscated my REAL ID and refused to give it back. She had a truly nasty attitude about it all. I couldn’t believe how disrespectful and degrading she was to me. I had to call the cops in order to get my REAL id back. My friend was visiting from out of town and this was our only opportunity to enjoy a night out, so it was a huge bummer to have to deal with such a time consuming and stressful inconvenience. This girl is an embarrassment to M.Special and needs to be fired.BTW- If this ever happens to you, you can file a complaint with the state’s liquor commission which will go on their record permanently unless you choose to withdraw it. Have fun with that! :)

Excellent place. Very inviting. Beer garden in back. Roomy, excellent music.
This is a place to enjoy good beer with room to roam. Outside the distillery there's a food truck with excellent Mexican food. Recommended.

Good beer. Every time. Nice atmosphere that has the feel of a brewery nestled in the bougie area of State Street. Nice little beer garden out back. Lots of TVs if you’re looking for an obscure sports ball game match on ESPN 8. Folks slanging beers are very pretty, but still cool. Even to an old codger like me.
