I ordered the beef shabu shabu and ramen ?. BTY, for the shabu shabu, they only offer traditional Japanese shabu( Hot water with seaweed not soup one).
Cancelled my DoorDash order without reason after waiting 45 minutes! All their postings say they are open and their phone just kept ringing and ringing. ZERO stars if I could.
The food was great however they made us wait for way too long. There were two servers, one was excellent, the other was awful. No one greeted to us when we came in. We waited for about 10-15 mins before we got seated and another 40 mins for my food to come. To be fair the food tasted wonderful. Just wish they could have better service.
I really wanted to like this place but not only was the service terrible we ordered large beef shabu only to have our plate of meat given to the people next to us once it had been sitting out for 15 minutes they realized the mistake they then they tried to play it off and pretend to take it to the back and bring us “fresh meat” when we watched them literally do nothing and come back to us and try and give us the meat when we told the server we were uncomfortable with the improper food safety handling and wanted new meat he said it was fresh and not the same one and we literally said we watched you the whole time to make sure he couldn’t even play it off and legit just walked away! After that we closed out our tab and left.

Tried to order on Grubhub .. after 40 minutes I got a call from the driver saying they weren’t gonna make it and were gonna cancel it. IF YOU CANT MAKE ORDERS DONT ACCEPT THEM!!!!! Thanks for wasting 40 minutes of my time and the drivers time.
Too nuch rice on the Nigeria sushi and fish was not fresh
Kai Sushi was such a great outdoor dining experience on State Street today. The sushi ? was very fresh, the tempura crispy and warm, and the service was swift and polite. Andrew was our server and he was great. The food was very reasonably priced. The lunch special included a delicious beef/noodle soup, salad, fresh sushi, rice and beef or chicken for $12. Hard to find such great service, fresh great tasting food and reasonable prices. Everone enjoyed their meal.
