During our trolly city tour, our guide Rusty recommended Joe's Cafe. We are SO glad we went by for a late lunch and happy hour. Joe's has been around for nearly 100 years. The burgers and fries were delicious! The happy hour is outstanding and you even receive a glass of extra on the side. We all tried the lemon drop martini and loved it! Very strong! They live up to the "stiffest drinks" claim. ;-) We also adored the cute atmosphere. What a fun local spot!

We enjoyed our dinner her service was friendly and quick, lots of beers to choose from. Quite a large menu but we stuck with the special. Topped off with cherry pie. Which my husband said was just like his mm's.

The quality of the food is not what it once was. We hope this restaurant is not going the way much of our once magnificent downtown has.

We have gone to Joe's for many years. The service is top-notch and the waiters and bartenders have been there for years. We also enjoy the food. It is not for vegetarians except for the Yukon gold mashed potatoes which is what I usually get. We like the fact that now you can sit outside which is great on a nice day. If it's cold, there are heaters or sit inside where it is warm and cozy. Lots of parking in the public lot nearby. There is not much waiting time if any and you can always have a cocktail when waiting.

I've been going to Joe's since I went to college at UC Santa Barbara. The drinks are in fact the strongest that you will ever be given in town or perhaps California for that price and that alone makes it worth it if what you went out for was to get a bit drunk. The food is pretty good it's nothing to write home about per se but it's really quite nice comfort food.

I must admit that we weren’t planning to eat here but we sort of forgot that most US restaurants close their kitchens before 9pm. Thankfully Joe’s was able to accommodate us just before the kitchen closed.Despite turning up so late, staff were really friendly and accommodating. The menu choice was huge and the food was very good. One of the mains wasn’t exactly as described, but no complaints given the effort they made to accommodate us.Joe’s is a Santa Barbara institution. I’m very pleased that we found them, albeit by accident!

Wonderful Waffles and chicken breakfast with scrambled eggs. Outstanding diner coffee with real dairy cream. I’ve never had chicken and waffles before but have always wanted to have it. When in Santa Barbara I shall return. Highly recommended, I’ll see you there.

Food was good! Could have been a bit better. the Miami Hot Sauce was Just Ok. I did Like the Philly cheesesteak. Was a bit upset they didn't have Dr. Pepper as far as drinks go, but they are known for thier alcoholic beverages. Service was good all way around. They are a Staple on State Street and Worth a Visit.

What a surprise! A lovely area great service. Reasonable prices fantastic drinks. This is a good one.
