Beautiful clean space. Old fashioned doughnut was doughy consistency, not what you expect it to be (e.g, slightly crunchy). Banana with peanut butter on a slice of bread; hard to know what to make of this dish! Buttermilk biscuit with turkey sausage was flavourless. Coffee was lukewarm and not strong coffee flavour. All this for $43!! There are many better breakfast options in Santa Barbara
While I love the new location with its airy design, something has happened to the donuts. These used to be the best I had in my life and now they are just average. Still creative toppings but something has changed with the dough. I waited and waited for the reopen this spring but it’s just not the same as a year ago For most people it’s probably still great but I’m a donut snob…
Treated by our daughter and family who live in Santa Barbara. We enjoyed everything tremendously. Great variety and all very good! We will have to come back. ?
Surprisingly good stuff here between the everything bagel and the vegan breakfast sandwich which was much better than most vegan sandwiches!I got the tea which they had honey and cinnamon and other addins if you want.Friendly atmosphere, prices were a bit high but that's to be expected in Santa Barbara.
Very impressed with their donut and the brunch! The biscuits sausage sandwich was amazing!!!! Not dry, crisp outside but moist inside. Lavender latte was not as outstanding but still very good. If you come pass noon, you will have fewer options of donut. Come early!
This is a must!!! Do not miss stopping at Hook and Press Donuts! Not only are the donuts amazing but so are the owners! They pour their heart and soul into their work and it definitely shows. The donuts are fresh, the flavors are divine and the customers rock (except sbman1068). I make special trips to Santa Barbara just to get my hands on these donuts. My kids love them too.
Not sure where you grabbed a donut @sbman1068, but it doesn't sound like Hook & Press. I have enjoyed the local business grow from its start — and enjoyed everything with delight. I've never had an issue with donuts tasting old (especially since they sell out frequently). Flavors are creative and wonderful and find myself a little defensive of the place, because its brought nothing but joy and smiles. I encourage all to try it for yourself and enjoy... and their coffee is good too. :-) Hot tip: Mix things up and go for a biscuit with butter and preserves. I know, sounds odd... off the charts delicious with a little Ojai pixie preserves.
My husband and 4 year old and I went to this charming, airy, sunlit donut shop and had the most wonderful and unexpected trio of donuts. Our kid is an extremely picky eater but she loved our treats and insisted on trying everything we ordered. The donuts were little works of art and very subtly, beautifully flavored. We can’t wait to bring out of town friends here.
Stopped in to pick up donuts for Mother's Day. What a treat! Couldn't wait to get home to try one so I ate one there. DELICIOUS! Will definitely be stopping by every time I'm driving through Santa Barbara.
