The location is outstanding. The food is excellent. The service could be better organized. We only received one glass of water and one serving of alcoholic drinks. We sat in the bar area and our server was the bar manager, Marco. He served our first drink , took our order and basically left us hanging. The food was served by other support staff that basically was just dropping off the plates and did not bother to ask if everything was okay. One dish was served with items that were requested off the plate and the other person did not get their fish until everyone else was finished and we had to get up and track him down to get it delivered. I recommend that if you are going to eat, DO NOT EAT AT THE BAR!!!. As a bar manager, Marco should attend to the bar duties and leave the serving to the waiters. We were very disappointed with his service. He offered a free beer or dessert to compensate for the service and we declined. It’s not about the money. We spent over $400 dollars for a dinner for 4 and left a respectable tip. It’s about the service. We recommend the restaurant. We suggest that you do not eat at the bar.
Currently listed as $$ but I’d definitely list it as $$$. Good cocktails and food but whenever I eat upscale Mexican I can’t help think how a hole-in-the-wall spot with food and drinks for a fraction of the price always tastes more authentic and better. Gorgeous beachfront location. Free chips and salsa (rare at an upscale Mexican spot). Guac is very small portion for the price. 2 enchiladas for the price of 3 (again, it’s upscale). Overall I recommend…but it won’t be the best Mexican you ever have.
Great food & atmosphere. My friends and I were all really pleased with our orders; we all had tacos. We also tried the margarita Guadalajara, & the lava salt was the perfect touch on the refreshing drink. I believe the owner was walking around and served us for the evening, he and the rest of the staff were very friendly! Would absolutely come back here
Today FIESTA Santa Barbara I went there and it was like the bartenders thought I did not existt. I would order a beer and the would forget to bring it to me and my friend. I had met these two WHITE girls at the bar and wanted to buy them a drink. It took me 3 different times asking to get the drinks. This place is racist. Do not go there if your white. The bartenders ignore you. Even the manager the guy in the red shirt today did the same thing to me the last time I was there. I was born in SB and am white and now that the Mexicans have taken over the restaurants they hate whites. Carlos the owner and the owner of restaurant Santa Mezcal is the same. When they first opened they had this great optopus dish and I had it about 5 times until the portion got so small that I would not go there any more. Do not go to these restaurants. The bartenders today at fiesta ruined my fiesta in my home city. I will never go to either restaurants again and I suguest you don't go either. My suggestion trains you bartenders to have better service......
While visiting Santa Barbara we decided to dine at Flor De Maiz. This is a beautiful restaurant on the beach. Our party of five had cocktails of margaritas, Bloody Mary’s and beer. The chips and salsa very good. We all had a variety of their tacos from beef, shrimp and octopus. Everyone raved how good their taco’s were. I had the shrimp taco’s and they were probably the best shrimp taco’s I have ever had. It was a wonderful dining experience in beautiful Santa Barbara. What more could you ask for.
Had to split our party over 2 tables, sitting outside. Good service. Nice cervice. Mains tasty but not exceptional. Great bar.
Me and my sister came here on a vacation from Scottsdale Arizona . We ate here on Thursday and the hostess was so sweet and accommodating. I ordered soft tacos with steak and my sister had the salmon with pineapple chunks and asparagus on it. The food is UNBELIEVABLE. I have never had such amazing tacos in my whole entire life. I wanted to thank the chef but it was so busy. This is such a great restaurant, great vibes, food is very flavorful and reasonably priced thank God. God bless the staff. I will definitely be back again. Thank you! Love, Nancy and Christine
We had dinner at Floe De Maiz, the food was super tasty, service was fantastic! We sat out on the patio, they bring out more heaters in later hours, which is nice. Indoor seatings looked cool, too. We were lucky to sit after about 10min wait, but it does seem to get busy during prime dinner hours on the weekend, so expect some wait.
It was really exceptional. My favorite meal of our trip to Santa Barbara. The Decour is inventive and pretty. The wait staff were super kind and helpful and attentive. Every single dish we tried was crafted with care and love, and with massive amounts of flavor, and perfect seasoning. The cornbread dessert was a shocking and delicious surprise at the end. We were seated at a corner booth table outside, and even though it was cool outside the abundant heaters kept us very comfortable. I can’t wait to come back :-)
Best place I’ve had in Santa Barbara. Great place for a celebration. Prices are a little high or be a regular spot, but the food and the drinks are so good you’ll feel like you got your money’s worth!
