This place is legit. High quality ingredients, everything I tried was fire. I hope they stay as high quality as they are now. They look clean. Their side of chillies is really crunchy and fresh. Legit. One of the best thai food place I have been to.
I had Pad Thai and my friend had Thai tacos ( beef or Pork meat on 3 inches piece of lettuce) which It was a joke food. I felt like a 5 years old kid made the food. However, The Pad Thai food had no flavor (Plain rice noodles ) with 3 pieces of chicken of 1.1/2 inches in sizes. I was wonder if the chicken ran the marathon before getting into my plate. Also, I had one Thai tea and the total was for 3 items 38$++!! Serially 38$ for lunch and not even a dinner!!. Actually, I went twice to the restaurant the last week and never again. Moreover, I am not sure how they all these rating stars but probably with the help of friends!. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant.
As you can see in my title, nothing was out of this world. Just a normal lunch to go. The food was tasteful but if you like teriyaki and love to drink it from the bottle, then this is the place for you. Very salty and way too much which over-powered the other flavors. I'm assuming this was just a one off and not the norm for them, maybe they could have been just busy and made it too quick. I would give them a second chance for sure but I wont be running to them.
I must have eaten food from Empty Bowl three times in 4 days. It is super delicious and refreshing. This site used to be a Safeway grocery store and even though a food court is more tourist oriented than a grocery store for residents and tourists alike, if it had to be replaced, then a food court is a current take on offering food choices to the masses. I think the vendors inside are all local entrepreneurs, so I applaud the owners for giving these business a chance.
Great tasting food! The Tom yum with chicken is a plate of noodles you can hardly finish. And the northern Thai soup is a delicious variation on Tom Kha Kai. But this is NOT a cheap place. Three of us with only one glass of wine came within a whisker of $100, and considering we sat at the counter where it is extremely noisy a person has to think twice about this.
Had the hangover noodle and khao soi and ate it just outside the market. Hangover noodle was absolutely delicious and spicy. Nice garlicy and basil flavours. The chicken in the khao soi was juicy and like melt in your mouth. Coconut milk flavour was good. Washed it all down with a pear cider from the market. Very good experience.
Don’t even waste your time and money here. This place’s food has 0 flavor (NO JOKE!!!) I ordered the boat noodle soup and the broth was just a let down, tasting like pepper water! And my parents ordered pad Thai. No color in the noodles could point you to no flavor and lack of seasonings. and I pity Americans who think this place is authentic. The cooks do not understand how to make Thai food. Please go somewhere where the cooks are Thai because they will make it right.
Decent portion for lunch, ordered mild spicy for Hangover Noodle and the sauce is not strong at all, even my 4-year-not-eating-spicy toddler can handle it?♀️ They do offer only one kind of kid menu- Pancit Noodle on kids size. Thai tea is great. Server can be more welcoming.
The green papaya salad is delicious. You think it going to be fruity but it’s actually not. The papaya isn’t ripe so it has more of a vegetable taste and texture. Highly recommend!
delicious vegan options. I love the food and service
