Beautiful venue with a cool and helpful manager, Shane. If you're looking for a wedding venue, they require you to work with 24 Carrots for food and service. 24 Carrots seemed a bit pricey to begin with, but they have many options that range from reasonable to extravagant. Their staff were also extremely nice and helpful. I would absolutely recommend the 1912 to anyone looking for a neat venue for their event. Every wall in the event hall (except maybe the one with the bathroom) can be used as a fantastic backdrop. The exposed ceiling has a very nice - almost industrial - look to it, but the lighting is elegant and beautiful.If you're interested in the 1912, just send them an email! Shane is so helpful. You won't regret it.
Went for the first time today. I couldn't have asked for a better day. The sun was shining and most the animals seemed to be pretty active. My kids love the play areas and the rope walk. Me? The hippo impressed me.
This Zoo will always have an incredibly special place in my heart, as I grew up in the Sunset District and slept each night only a stones throw away from all these beautiful animals.Visiting here never gets old to me, and I don't look at it as an entertainment day, as more a day to pay respect to those animals who day in and day out provide education to us, at the expense of their own loss of freedom.Come here to see amazing animals who otherwise we would never lay eyes on. Do not come here to be thrilled like you are at an amusement park. That is not the point of a zoo.One star off for too many exhibits being upgraded/not in use at one given time... and bathrooms could use some more frequent cleaning. Other than that, a spectacular, special place.
Huge property. Not quite a 5 star. Perfect location if staying at LA Live, 3 minute walk to staples center. Not as nice as Ritz Carlton or 4 seasons. Awesome lobby area. $49.95 valet parking. One thing I liked is quite a bit of check in desks. One thing I didn't like is the answering of their phones. I called a couple of times. No answer. Tried to call concierge, got a voicemail. I thought that was weird. Pillows and beds are comfy but not memorable.
A little confusing to find but a great venue for meetings and banquets. The staff is friendly.
