drove an hour to come eat here. no where on their site does it say reservations only, no where on yelp does it say reservations only. despite all this. I called about 6 times throughout the day to try and make a reservation.no sympathy from any of the staff, and continued to lie about their sites & yelp. yup got on my phone and confirmed I wasn't just missing it. this place has probably great food, but accusing the customer of making the mistake to try and patronize your establishment is beyond frustrating. A very unique and intimate dining experience every Omakase enthusiast in OC should try once. I think the other reviewers break down the experience more articulately than I ever could, but i can add insight on whether the dinner was "worth it". Considering the quality and quantity of food you're getting, I think the fixed rate per person is fairly priced and generous. However, I don't think this experience is worth a 1-3 month wait or a commute more than 30 min.I'm not sure how they're operating during covid, but under normal circumstances, you can easily snag a reservation in the same week by constantly refreshing the Open Table app on Yelp. I was able to make reservations within 3-4 days twice using this method.Overall, this novelty experience will be appreciated by advanced foodies, who enjoy a culinary performance. Beginners, esp those who don't like waiting for their food, beware or plan on drinking a lot in between courses.
An intimate dining experience for you and nine of your friends. The flavors and textures was great combination of salty and sea sweet fish, A5 wagyu, a fun amuse bouche to start, and expert cookery and knife skills. Very attentive wait staff and Chef Gino is very personable himself.
The flavor combinations, textures, and temperatures were perfection. If you are a fan of saki, you are in store for another treat. Gino's suggestion was the perfect match for our dinner. I must also comment on the service. For the lucky 4 couples in the restaurant on that particular evening, we were waited on and served by one woman and she was outstanding. The other thing that I always pay attention to is the restroom, it was clean and smelled good. I always associate a clean restroom with a clean kitchen. I will not provide too many details about the experience because I don't want to spoil it for you. Enjoy!
