It is soooooo good here! The Tom Yum is delicious , the chicken wings have so much flavor I can’t even describe them. ????? very impressed , super clean , cool art work down the hallway. Great Japanese Whiskeys too. ?????

Muy rico!! La atención es muy rápida y el servicio excelente ❤️??

Friendly owner. The meat quality doesn't seem as good as other places. Got the kobe and wasn't as soft as I'm used to. Prices are also pretty high. Get the chicken wings, those are good and juicy.

Love this place so much that my girlfriend and I had to bring our friends! A couple of them had a bad experience with Shabu in the past, but Kaizen definitely made up for it! The food is delicious and quality, the staff is so friendly and Lamson the owner is an amazing human!

I am in between a 4.5 and a 5 stars. We had a reservation to this place and when we got there, the host kept pushing us to the back to wait. We weren’t clear to what he wanted and kept waiting in the wrong spot and kept pushing back. This place is street metered parking or parking in the lot with a meter. They had outside dining, fortunately, we were able to sit inside because I was cold. The wait to be seated was less than 5 minutes. When we got seated, we were greeted by the owner. He introduced himself and gave us hot sake on the house, which was nice! I am a weak drinker and my boyfriend was driving, so unfortunately, some of it had to go to waste. If you are new joiner and not driving or a weak drinker, I suggest getting the sake!We ordered two combo plates and two cocktails. The combo plates comes with 2 meats, veggies, sauce, broth, and rice. One of the combo plates I ordered angus beef and pork belly and the other one I ordered angus beef and korabuta park. They were sooo good, especially the ponzu sauce! They didn’t advertise this, but ask for their special chili oil! It was very spicy with just 3 drops. I love spicy, so I’d come back just for the chili oil.For cocktails, we ordered the Sunset Rio and Passion of the Shito. Both were good. Order came out fast. The service was good. The restaurant was very busy, so we understand. They seemed a bit forgetful and didn’t check on us often, but they were very friendly and tried to be helpful. We kindly reminded our needs.Overall, I’d definitely come back for the food!

Showed up around 8pm for a busy Saturday night. Was told about 20-30 min wait, so went next door for a cocktail until they called us when our seats were available. The owner was super welcoming and offered hot sake on the house. Got some shishito peppers to start. Great flavors and seasoned perfectly. Ordered the American wagyu and lamb for the proteins. The wagyu was fatty and tender, definitely the favorite. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would recommend all my friends for a visit.

Love this place! The staff are amazing, very friendly and take care of the guests. The food is so good too. I have taken many of my friends here and they all love it and come back. My go to is the Tom yum with Kobe Beef. Delicious every time.

We liked our dinner here. It was the first time I stepped beyond my familiar Shabu routine to try a non-traditional soup base (Thai Tom Yum) and it was yummy! Granted, some other Shabu shops also do this, but here exotic, “fusion” premium broths, including coconut curry, Szechuan/Mexican flavor, besides Tom Yum, take center stage, on top of classic Japanese fares. Perhaps this unique emphasis inspired the name Kaizen, Japanese for improvement. We also like the outdoor ambience. Although there were counter seats indoors facing the full service bar, we opted to dine al fresco in the patio out front. Fresh air and open space offered a sense of health safety amid the renewed COViD jitters. It’s great to be able to see a beautiful setting sun against the backdrop of clean, practically deserted gentrified DTSA environs while enjoying dinner on this quiet weeknight. The owner graciously walked around, introduced himself and made sure customers were well-cared for. Service was very attentive. The angus beef served in sukiyaki and spicy miso broths were good but not spectacular. I was not a fan of the somewhat pricey sashimi-grade salmon sliced wafer-thin that tested chopstick dexterity, cooked too quickly, and disintegrated quite easily in the boiling soup.

Loved this place, first of all, they were very kind and respectful to all of us. While we were waiting for our table outside we were updated regularly about our seating until it did happen. They gave us the option to give us examples of how to do everything. The workers are also very helpful and are always available to help you, very beginner/first time friendly to all customers. The food itself was great, the portions of food is a little large but that's more of a positive then a con. Overall they were great in all areas, Customer Service, Food, Comfort, all the areas. Would recommend, and could be a new experience!

The food was incredible! They were very accommodating with our large family and really made it an incredible experience with most all of us never having shabu shabu.the waitress and waiter had a memory like I had never experienced! %100 would recommend! Thank you all so much!
