My home is in Washington Square, only 1.5 miles from The Den. My family is blessed to be near The Den because The Den is a gem: Breakfast Croissant Sandwich, Breakfast Burrito, or Spinach and Bacon Scramble. Lunch may be the Bread Pudding French Toast, Vegan Berry Waffle or Adobe Stew that is excellent. The Den is unique in several ways: an Historic Renaissance vibe that's a reflection of healthy food, vegetable/vegan, culture, and renewal. My son and daughter-in-law enjoy the variety of healthy and creative dishes at The Den. And The Den reminds me of the Age of Exploration and the Renaissance. I'm a retired first responder, educator, entrepreneur, & musician. The Den reminds me of traveling on a B & B budget for 6-monhs from the British Isles to Scandinavia, over the Alps to Italy, Spain, and the Greek Islands. The Den reminds me of the small cafes, culture, and folk music in Scotland and Ireland where I sang Celtic/Gaelic and American Folk Songs. Thank you for the memories. Scott Duncan
It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. The chicken pesto sandwich is exceptional?? my boyfriend and I Loved it.It was a great experience.
Really delicious food with excellent prices. The staff was warm and friendly and the ambiance was superb. Totally enjoyed my visit and look forward to coming back! Can’t say enough good things about the lavender latte too, just amazing.
Great food, service, and prices. Very relaxing ambiance. The breakfast burrito and avocado toast were amazing. Will absolutely be back!
Quite possibly the best brunch I've ever had. The bloody mary was absolutely perfect and I am very picky about my bloody's. You can tell the use really high quality ingredients and the atmosphere is very cool.
Excellent café! Great staff, but friendly and efficient. Effective system and menu with wonderful variety! If course there's also the art!!
This was a great place to have Sunday morning brunch. We came at 9:30 and it wasn’t too busy at all. The space is open and there are lots of seats. The coffees were perfect and the food was even better. Scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. They offer fruit and salads as a side, which I appreciate. We loved it here, and we will be back!
Great customer service, the food was great and really good lattes.
We chose the Gypsy Den for our son & DIL’s wedding brunch, and it was sheer perfection! Nicole & her staff went over & above to make it beautiful, with TOP notch food & drinks, like Smoked Salmon Hash, Bread Pudding French Toast, Mocha & Lavender Latte’s, Rose Martini, w crushed rose petals (just a few of the selections), all SO tasty! We reserved the patio, which they set up with glass champagne glasses, pretty flatware, and mason jar flowers w mini lights we supplied. It was a twinkling fairyland! Their patio faces the Arts Plaza Courtyard & Fountain, which we were able to use for photos, & a dance for the happy couple. Nicole, Joaquin, & Brandon service and attention to detail was thoughtful and so friendly, accommodating. Our guests felt pampered. They also did a cake service with a tiered cake we got around the corner at Blackmarket Bakery. It was a perfect day! Nicole, we cannot say or thank you enough! We now want to have our 35th anniversary party with you in June. Thank you!
Love this place! The atmosphere is so unique and lovely. A perfect brunch spot or place to meet with friends for coffee or drinks. The service was excellent, super friendly and the food was great. The vegan waffle was the best waffle I've ever had! They have a good amount of vegan & gluten-free options, including oat & almond milk for coffee. Highly recommend, this place is a gem!
