This place is super cute. And super tiny. And super Avenue K Bar. And super cash only.It's got that in your neighborhood park secret location family bartenders type of feel to it. Rad.
I've been missing my Hot Turkey Sandwich from Benji's during this terrible year and finally broke down and picked one up to go. $18 and change ...okay, okay..but it'll be great and therefore, worth it. Not so much. Mashed potatoes weren't even warm, let alone hot. The gravy had no flavor and wasn't the right type for this sandwich. Disappointed.
My friend invited me over for a pastrami sandwich after I told him that Sunnymead Burgers was FSBO. Well, after a long drive to Tustin from Surprise, we met and drove on over to Benjies. The menu was impressive, but sticking to my desire, I ordered the pastrami sandwich. It came piled high, moist and with a side of cole slaw.At $15.95 a little hit but delicious! Now on my list.
Today I stopped at Benjies for lunch. The Benjie Special (Hot Pastrami with Coleslaw and Russian Dressing on Rye) was great. I will definitely will eat here again.
This is the place you go if you want old fashioned and wonderful deli food. The food is really good and the service is excellent.
Best Reuben in town!! We went with a group of 6. We all ordered different thugs: Reuben sandwich, matzo ball soup, turkey burger with fries, brisket sandwich and there were oohs and Aha’s all around!

Big menu, lots of deli favorites.....most clients are regular customers, can be a wait at peak times but smoking in the bar...
Great little bar, great service, loved the rockabilly trio that night.
