In the 20+ years we have been dining here, whether for an intimate dinner for two or a party for 40, we have always had a great experience. Last night was no exception!! The service was extraordinary and the food was delicious as usual.
Everyone in our party was very happy with everything they ordered AND shared. One of the best Italian restaurants weâve eaten at. All the servers and the manager were very helpful and kind. If I lived in the area, Iâd be a regular. We all ordered different pasta dishes and salads. Delicioso! Thank you for being part of a memorable weekend: our daughterâs wedding.
Definitely the star of the dish was carbonara. So good! Must try it if you dine here. Their tortellini was good, but compared with carbonara, it was not as good. Tiramisu was good, you can taste the espresso. But Iâm not a fan with the cherry sauce. Service was meh~ the girl was probably too busy to cover all her tables. And one guy left spoons on the outside table, which is not so sanitary to me. Overall, a solid Italian spot if Iâm in the area. But definitely wonât go out of my way to come here.

I found the melanzane to be the best I have ever had. Truly delicious! Try it!
Large party outside and not enough servers. Good dinner, but extremely noisy and slower than normal service. Canât blame the large party for having a good timeð¤©

I no longer live in San Rafael, but La Toscana is one of my must-go destinations whenever I visit. Every meal I've had there is terrific.
