Fun place to eat. San Rafael sucks with parking. Salsa was money. Guac has a great flavor. Wait staff is very good. They were so attentive to our tables needs. We were there for Taco Tuesday. We got the Quesabirria. It was oily (not uncommon with some birria tacos). Great flavor. Tacos were bigger than normal street tacos. Plan accordingly. Will come back again. Good place to eat.
This place offers an excellent variety of their specialty, freshly made moles. Most Mexican places, if they have mole at all, only offer the common mole poblano and that is often from a can. Ambience is cozy, comfortable though I went for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't busy. Some items are pricey...they ask if you want chips and guacamole as you are seated, before you see on the menu that it is $12. That was nearly as much as my entree, which was enmoladas: beef, chicken or vegetarian enchiladas topped with mole of your choice...and it was delicious. With the entree they served Arroz Verde, which is a delightful change from the usual red rice.Recommended...but don't expect a cheap taqueria, this is well above that. On weekends they offer a mole buffet...all you want, of all their moles; so you can try all of them.If you come by transit for a visit to San Rafael, it is a one-block walk from the train station and only slightly longer from the bus terminal.
My dog wouldn’t even eat this food. The waiter victor caused my friends drink to spill, due to the table being slanted, and did not apologize. The manager was far more disrespectful. I am disappointed of the treatment of my friend, this is the food they served her, and antagonized her after she asked for a refund. They also made us pay for chips and salsa which was watery and old.
Absolutely terrible, i would never ever recommend this place to anyone i know. These people are so rude, and don’t know how to do the bare minimum of cooking a simple meal. They charged us $10 without telling us, wouldn’t let us split the check, and gave us uncooked food. The beans we ordered were almost watery, something i have never seen in my life. They denied giving us our money back and instead blamed us for ordering what we did, because “they aren’t allowed to” even though the waiters served us and allowed us to order what we did. The food was so bad, and we were so upset with the service, we asked for our money back and left the food at the register. Don’t go here unless you’re willing to get scammed for your food and money.
The weekend brunch buffet was a great experience, mainly because the food was tasty?! The value is exceptional for the buffett option. They also have a regular menu if you don't feel like gorging. Also, regular menu has options not in the buffett, such as shrimp or cerviche. It was our first time there, and we enjoyed the buffett. They feature ~8 moles, where I tried about 5 of them. I enjoyed the mango and the elena flavors. The buffett also includes fried plantains, sweet chips, pazole, menudo, Mexican rice or pablano rice ?, salsas, etc.I enjoyed the cinnamon-flavored coffee ☕ and tea?....they were delicious! The pork ? pibil, and birria chicken ? we're really good ?They have two other locations, ad definitely going to plan to visit those locations as well.Great job Los Moles!
The photo I posted is of their arroz con pollo (rice and chicken) - barley got a refund. The service was terrible, very difficult/disrespectful. The food was very poor and looks unappetizing and barley edible. Do not recommend to anyone and the restaurant is a mockery to Latinos and Mexican food. Horrible mole and even worse kids food - do not bring your kids. The food is overpriced and they will tax you for a party of 6, they were aggressive when requesting a refund. Never coming back.
Tortilla chips were very good quality, but the salsa verde and regular salsa did not taste fresh at all. Had burrito with carnitas, guacamole, cheese, rice, beans and salsa. The burrito was good, but not great, could have used more meat and less rice/beans. The service was excellent, really on top it so I didn't need to ask for anything. For the price point the food should be a lot better. I wouldn't go back based on the poor taste of the salsas alone
Amazing place.Since I walked in to the restaurant, the staff was friendly, polite and provided me an amazing experience. The food quality it's amazing, if you're in doubt where to go and get a good horchata, a very homemade food, this is the perfect place for you to go.
They didn't mask sure everyone was wearing a mask upon entry. The table's weren't completely sanitized after customers were done dining. Only a partial cleaning. Buffet was open and I didn't see anyone sanitize the Buffet area. Food was good.
It’s just ridiculous how good this mole is. Overall good ambiance and good service. Only complaint is that the outdoor dining is right near a busy street. (car exhaust, loud cars, etc)
