This is a true Italian high quality deli. Wow. The meatball sandwich is to die for. Gets my vote for best In Marin!The previous redwood deli in this location was beyond awful. Such an upgrade.
Quality ingredients, family owned, great selection, fabulous Italian foods to use to create your own Italian meals. Fab olive oils, vinegars, san Mariano tomatoes, sardines, etc.
Twice I've had the Californiano (turkey sandwich), and it was delicious. We recently had out-of-town visitors who also very much liked their selections. They and I have ordered twice online without issues, and the sandwiches were ready on time.
Simply put, la Porchetta Sandwich is the best sandwich I've ever had. The balance of flavors and textures was devine! I work in fine dining around the bay area and am no stranger to delicious things, but damn! This is a sandwich that I will not soon forget.
The sandwiches are really good. I like the Sicilian.I do not recommend ordering online. I placed an order to be picked up at 1:15 PM. I arrived at 1:30 PM and inquire about my order. A woman behind the counter sees my order ticket on the counter and tells me they she would call my name when it was ready. They were noticeably busy, so it was not too big of a deal. It happens.I did not wait inside (Covid reasons), so I took a walk around. Knowing they were busy, I called 15 minutes later to ask if my order was ready. A young man answers and tells me that my order was "lost." Not sure how that happens, because my ticket was on the counter. He apologizes and tells me they will have the my order ready in a few minutes.I walk back in around 1:50 PM and the place is nearly empty. So, many of the people who placed orders after me were served. Still working on my sandwich though.My order was finally ready around 1:53 PM. Over 40 minutes after it was supposed to be.Again, the sandwiches are good and I will go back eventually. Just want to share my experience and potentially save someone else from going through this.
Oh my god the Tiramisu.... So bomb.... And the meatballs!! Ahhh. Also the godfather is phenomenal
Good Lord. Get yourself a Godfather. So good! I'd just fast until 1pm, and make that your one and only meal for the day.Love this place.
Wow! This is just like an east coast Italian deli and I mean that as a compliment. I ordered a hot sandwich, the fresh ravioli(happens today's fresh was butternut squash ravioli) and my child ordered the godfather.... Holy cow! ????? They were so delicious. I should have taken pics. We were also given a fresh meatball to sample.... I have had incredible, authentic Italian food and this meatball was heaven. Everything was fresh and good! The staff was kind, nice and helpful. Do yourself a favor and try it out. You won't be disappointed. I'm definitely going there everytime I'm in the area. BTW it across from O'Reilly's auto parts. ?
I think this is the first 5 Star rating I’ve given to a deli. Bruno’s is deserving. We just had the Meatball and The Godfather. I didn’t think a meatball sandwich could be as good (even better) than my mom’s, but wow, the meatballs and sauce are delicious. The Godfather is a flavor explosion cold cut sandwich. It is the bomb.We are lucky to have this deli in San Rafael. And we will be back!
The sandwiches from Bruno’s are absolutely delicious!! We got the La Porchetta and the Il Siciliano sandwich. Both were great, especially the La Porchetta. Would highly recommend trying their sandwiches! I’ll definitely be back again.
