I seem to be on a lucky streak. Rex’s is a small cafe on the the corner and has little parking. This is a great little place that, if I lived here, I could be a regular at. The restaurant is clean and bright. The service (Jessica?) was great. Both my daughter and I had the stuffed French toast with eggs and sausage. Eggs and sausage were good and very hot, nothing special, but the toast was delicious. Not sure what they stuff it with, but with the fresh banana and strawberries it is delicious. The prices are pretty reasonable for this area. My only complaint would be the Cappuccino. Not a fan of the coffee but I’m kinda snobby with coffee. I’ll probably be back here in the next few days.
Enjoyed their Mexican coffee and stuffed French toast with a side of sunny side up eggs and bacon. Definitely will return to explore more of the menu
Best breakfast in two years ! I visited CSULB with my son last week and we stayed at the DoubleTree. We wanted a breakfast place we could walk to. What a pleasant surprise. The food is amazing and the portions more than generous. I had the Chiliquilles with fruit and my son a Denver Omellette with potatoes. We couldn't finish and enjoyed leftovers the next day. The service is impeccable and the restaurant cute. I would definitely recommend this place !!
This is a small cafe, so it gets busy real quick and I understand why... food was brought out quickly and it was delicious. Portions were hefty and the coffee was freshly brewed... they have quite a bit of options, so I am definitely coming back!
Always have the best experience, whenever I stop by & grab a bite to eat. Food is excellent, service is excellent, restaurant is always clean. Prices are reasonable & portions are hearty. Highly recommend Rex cafe?
Had an excellent breakfast. The staff and ower were super friendly and accommodating. Will be going back very soon!
Great service in a cozy environment. The food is a little pricey but you will not leave hungry. The coffee is great and they are very accommodating. The only downside is that the space is a bit cramped so smaller groups are better. Overall, a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back.
I have eaten breakfast and was extremely disappointed eggs were not cooked my order it was probably the worst breakfast I’ve ever had I did give them another shot for lunch and it was even worse very low quality food ,service is terrific but everything I’ve tried it was horrible. I’m so sorry for this review I might give them one more try as I hate giving horrible reviews ?
The place is kind of small but it's excellent food good helping girls good helpings good waiters
I don't normally put reviews, but I had share how much I enjoyed my overall experience with this place. I got the California Omelet and my boyfriend got the Breakfast Burritto. They both came your choice of breakfast potatoes, hashbrowns, or fruit. The omelete came with toast and the burrito came with refried beans. They seemed busy but the staff was friendly. Good service overall. The price was reasonable. Delicious food with fresh ingredients. We will definitely be back!
