Placed an order for pickup. They are one of the few places that does beef ribs and they were great like always. But the sides were absolutely embarrassing. Ordered a side of sweet potatoes. They were $3.50. What I got was a tiny container with 6 small pieces of sweet potatoes. That comes to like 60 cents per piece. You have to be kidding. And ordered a corn muffin, which was even worse at $2.00. I could have bought a cheap mix at a supermarket and done a better job. It was rock hard and obviously old. Could have used it as a door stop. Keep on making the beef ribs but just eliminate the sides from the menu if they are all like this!
Windy City Pizza and BBQ is a fun and family friendly restaurant located in the Borel Plaza in San Mateo. This location is conveniently located on the El Camino Real Blvd. The deep dish pizzas are very good as are their BBQ ribs. I also like their cheesy garlic bread and side salad. The employees are friendly and provide good service.
Best pizza I've had since living in the Bay Area! Deep dish and thin crust, both delicious.
Good pizza and friendly staff. This place needs some updating and a good cleaning, but their Chicago style pizza is yummy & they even have beef ribs!
I feel so bad I never made my review for windy city. I always stop over for pizza . The lunch special is on point Pizza drink and salad for a reasonable price. The Chicago hot dog is pretty authentic. For me it's all about those pizzas the sauce is very good and flavorful. the crust is nice and buttery with a little crisp. The interior looks old school but very comfy. and the staff here is great! stopover and give them a try you won't be disappointed.
We came here for dinner and we got a medium windy city pizza and chicken wings and 1 Chicago dog. Everything was delicious but shortly after we got very sick. We were so disappointed because this was delicious but we all got the same sickness so we won't go back
A wild ride of a meal - brisket was cold, dry, and tasted like it was from last night's leftovers. But the pizza was full of fresh flavors and had an amazing crust. Would definitely go again for the pizza and pass hard on the bbq.
Got the Windy City pizza, which was delicious and satisfied my deep dish appetite. The beef sandwich was a bit underwhelming, especially compared to the sandwich at Al's in Chicago. Eventually I'd like to try their BBQ next time.
Nice place. Stopped in for a quick bite and just had the brisket sandwich, which was very tasty. Saw a few folks have the deep dish pizza and that looked good as well.
Our first time. Great menu. Clean.
