This is my absolutely favorite Kaiseki in the Bay Area, also the only Michelin Star restaurant that I keep coming back to.My review is a little bit overdue (the last time I dined in the restaurant was 2019 but I did order takeout dinner during 2020), but I really want to share my experience. This restaurant is hard to get a reservation, the process is to call at midnight and leave a message on reservation detail. If you're able to secure a reservation, the restaurant will call back the next day to confirm. For all the times I have been here, I have never been disappointed by the food. I could really tell that the chef puts a lot of thoughts into each dish. Each dish was so intricate and so fresh. Their service was also exceptional.Their menus refresh from time to time, but I always get their Sake Flight! My favorite is their fruity Sake Flight.I can’t wait to come back and dine at this restaurant soon!
Kaiseki experience was top notch with many creatively composed seafood dishes. The tai snapper with uni in spinach dashi sauce was the best savory dish. The yuzu milk mochi was a pleasant delight! The menu will change though. Highly recommend if you can get a reservation...only three tables per night
One of the best fusion Kaiseki dinner I have had.
Great food and friendly family atmosphere. Every time we visited them, the menu is always a Pleasanton surprise
Very interesting Japanese restaurant. Fixed degustation menu that changes monthly. Unusual and delicious, leaning heavily toward seafood. Quality and presentation were outstanding as you would expect from this Michelin stared restaurant.
The foods and services was incredible. My family really enjoyed everything.
Absolutely incredible. If you can get a reservation, you have to go. It's the best food you'll ever eat in a strip mall. Each dish was so thoughtful and delicious.
there is a very pleasant atmosphere, beautiful presentation of food and good prices)
First of all the owners are absolutely delightful. We got take out and it blew our socks off! Hands down the best egg I have ever had in my life....Seriously, I had waited a long while to come here and when I got a reservation for my husband's birthday it was a magical, moment. We were delighted. We traveled through taste and it suspended time. Satiated and joyous. Wakuriya is the best Japanese I have had in my life. I cannot wait to dine inside, but until then I will treat myself to their fare every month.
Of all the dishes, I found the trio of lobster with strawberry infused sauce, skewered scallops, and gindara such a sublime treat. Dining at Wakuriya feels like being at someone’s home. Mayumi as always, was gracious and hospitable. She patiently explained everything. their food and service never fail to delight us.
