I rarely post reviews unless I feel something special about a place. Had the tuna bowl with quinoa salad. Delicious and moderately priced. One of the best poke bowls I’ve had in the bay. Great variety and quality ingredients.
Fresh ingredients, quick and professional service, great ambiance, and reasonably priced. I go here at least once a week or two. I've introduced several people to this place and they are regulars there now as well. The bowls are packed full and the options are plenty to choose. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
This is a GREAT place to go for sushi! I've never been brave enough to try it until my fiancé took me here during their Grand Opening, and since he knew the owner, I felt obligated, in a way, to at least give this a shot. No regrets! We told the owner that it's my first try ever and he began asking me questions. From my answers he personalized a Poke bowl designed for my liking, and it was amazing!!! I totally trust and respect this man and his fresh food, so this is the ONLY place I've ever eaten sushi, and it's always top notch! Not to mention all of the other great things they have to offer, such as the Sake or the big TV to catch a game while you enjoy your meal with family or friends. And did I mention that this place is owned and operated with a small staff of his close family members? All the love just flows through from back to front of the place. It can't get much better than that!
Amazing choice of ingredients, it's been so long since I got to build a perfect poke bowl for myself; bar with beers on tap.
I tried poke for the very first time here in October and now I eat poke once a week and most of the time it is here. I have not had poke at that many places but theirs is the best of the ones I have tried.
The best poke this side of the Bay! Easily! Most of the ingredients are made in the kitchen from scratch (like the purple pickled onions or daikon), and the proteins are fresh each and every time!! I've eaten here no less than once a week, for over 2 years now, and have never had a bad experience.Other perks:*They have oysters on the shell that are also incredibly fresh and super flavorful.*They have Happy Hour- discounted wine, beer, and oysters- Monday through Friday, 3-6pm. (I believe those are the hours. Call to check first).*They're a part of the Five Stars app program, so each time you order at the restaurant and use your Five Stars at check out, you earn points. The points add up quickly! Some of the rewards are free food items in the restaurant or a free poke bowl. You also get bonus points and discounts on Five Star with Truffle Butter, and occasionally I'll go in there and have 15% off applied to my bowl, not expecting it.Anyway, the staff here are absolutely lovely and hard working and the food is exceptional. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants and one that I would recommend first to anyone looking for a seafood/poke fix.
Reposting this since 'something happened' to my previous comments.Very disappointed in this place. Have a look at the avocado someone thought was appropriate to put on both of the bowls that we ordered.I'll be continuing on in my search for decent poke on the peninsula.
We always order lunch deliveries from them. All ingredients are always fresh and generous in portion. The variety of options is great and definitely good value for price. Their crab is real meat and very delicious!
The worst poke we’ve ever had. Small abysmal portions of protein that the dude weighed with a scale. Taste wise, the fish was cut into tiny cubes and sauce didn’t taste like much. There was little integration of flavour with all the components.
Very nice Oysters and nice clean and fresh poak bowls , and great happy hour Oysters Fanny Bay $1.50 a pice with a good glass of beer $4
