San Mateo has lots of competition and ramen spots to fight you for your patronage and hard earned dollars! That being said, this place was good. But I honestly need to come back to try it again for a second try.Shoyu ramen- pretty basic and standard. Need to give it a second try. Was missing any type of kick that would make it special.Tonkatsu ramen- soft flavor and not really rich like I'm used to but good for the thick noodles. Not bad.Crispy Rice w/ spicy tuna- delicious and must get!Wished they had side orders of fried rice along with the side rice and salad. Service was excellent and they automatically charge you a 16% service charge. Parking can be tough in downtown San Mateo.

Have been thinking about going to their South Bay store for a long while, and they finally came to the peninsula! Everything we ordered taste great - shoyo ramen, fried chicken and pork bun. Will definitely come back!

I always order tonkatsu ramen when I try a new ramen restaurant the first time, and tonkatsu ramen here is one of the best in peninsula. The broth is rich, the taste is not too oily but a very balanced taste so that you can drink it all. The chashu pork, the coddled egg, the crispy chicken, and the pork buns all taste amazing. The noodle itself is the only thing that is not so impressive to me, it's like the average noodle you had before. Overall, great experience, will come back again.

This used to be the San Mateo location for Ajisen Ramen. How weird that another ramen restaurant took over. That place wasn't popular. We had the tonkotsu ramen $16.30. The broth was great. It wasn't overly salty and had a good creamy taste. It is not as rich as other San Mateo ramen restaurants. I prefer rich broths. I wish they had a fried rice option. Only regular rice bowls were available. No beers were available. There is a mandatory +16% service fee, which is fine. Good job chef and crew at HiroNori. The ramen here are pretty good.

I love this place. I’ve already been twice. Their broth is so flavorful. The pork is of high quality and egg perfectly cooked. I live the spicy sauce that you can add in. The service is amazing and staff super nice. Definitely my new go to ramen place in San Mateo.

Vegan ramen made in minutes, consumed in seconds. Absolutely delicious, and the bowl size is big enough too!

Was seated down quickly right before the lunch rush. Brought out our water but a couple of the glass was dirty. Order the ramen. Flavorful but a little on the salty side. The pork belly was charred perfect. Order the chicken bowl for my son without topping since he doesn’t like greens.

Good tonkotsu ramem. Karaage are juicy and tender. Not excited about the surcharge. No other restaurant around San Mateo do it as I am aware of. It is not clearly mentioned until you are about yo pay. As I aware they don't do it at Cupertino store last time I visited couple months ago.

I loved the creaminess of the broth. I enjoyed the vegan ramen very much and the noodles were divine. My new go-to ramen….

One of the few places with shoyu ramen; great tonkotsu.Rice bowl and karaage is just ok. But one of my favorite ramen places in SM and there are a LOT of ramen places in SM
