quick service & phenomenal pie (w/ ice cream!) — fresh strawberry was life-changingnot 24 hrs as some sources state :/
Twas ok; nice to sit down at a restaurant, finally! Food was fine: average diner fare. Our original waitress was great; her relief was a nightmare! All I could figure was she was legally deaf-,And if she was, that's fine.i just needed to know before she took over! We called out for her several times; it was only after a customer at another table got her attention and directed her to our table that she helped us! Kind of annoying-But ya don't go to Heidi's for the service, you go because it's one of the only diners & pie shops left around!! Glad it survived the pandemic; hope they stick around (and go back to 24 hrs.!!)!!P.S.: Maybe pull their tips and get that server a hearing aid!! ?
HEIDI' S is above all the best family style restaurant in all of the Bay Area. The food is very well portioned and delicious and the workers are like family and very attentive in refilling the coffee or asking if you need anything. Her pies are reeeeally to live for, and we look forward to buying her famous pies which are baked fresh daily, but buy them quick because they sell out very quickly!. HEIDI' S was very well worth the over 2 hour drive we made to get her food combinations special and to buy two pies. We love HEIDI' S.
Pretty awesome green chile and cheese omelet. The ladies at the restaurant are low key and helpful.Would've been nice if they have pies in picture or display. It was hard to choose a slice of their namesake pies...I eventually got the chocolate cream pie. It is a okay... should've tried the blueberry & sour cream pie slice instead
The food was great as always. I had an omelette, my breakfast mate had a breakfast skillet. He said that he was so full before he started eating the pancakes but couldn't stop eating and that the pancakes had finished him off. LOL This guy has never been full the 8 years I've known him and have been eating with him. That says it all to me. Hours of operation have changed since COVID, no longer 24 hrs because of shortage of help, that doesn't stop the wonderful experience. The menus and the pie board reader have changed. My breakfast mate later on in the day commented that he still felt pleasantly full. Wow I'm amazed at that for him, he has a third leg. ? Thanks ? See you soon!

I had lots of hope for this place, since it is old and has good reviews. Lemon meringue pie was not good: crust had bitter taste, the shape of the pie was uneven, filling was ok, meringue topping was basic: just whipped egg whites and sugar, not Italian meringue. Very disappointed
The tradition started bringing my grandpa whatever pie he wanted for his birthday. For many years we shared these wonderful pies, sometimes driving over 40 miles. I still buy myself a rhubarb pie for his birthday every year and it means so much. Thank you Heidi’s Pies for all the memories.
The Banana cream pie was delicious !!! But I thought it was odd that the pieces of banana in the pie were so large rather than sliced up into the pie . I will definitely go back and try other pies ?
I have been coming to this place since 1995. My cousin & I walked up to the door. It appeared to be open, but there were no customers. We tugged on the door, it was locked. The sign said they close at 8:00 it was 5:43 Sunday evening 02-07-2022 There was a gentleman inside who clearly saw us, but chose to ignore us. He closed and locked the side door and walked away from our attention with his headed turned toward the other direction. And disappeared. I stopped knocking on the door and left. How Rude!Your pies are delicious! However you could have acknowledged us. You could have Said, I'm sorry we closed early. Which I would have understood. However you ignored me. That is the very least you could have done for me as I attempted to spend $ at your establishment.
