Great place to get a bite to eat. They have a great way where you scan the QR code on your phone, order and it’s done. We had a few people at the table and everyone could put in their own order. They then put the receipt on your table and would check off as they brought you what you ordered. Definitely worth trying different things. I ordered the soup dumplings, bao, noodles and bao sandwich. It all same all really fast and was gray food. The fifth star was because they forgot the bao sandwich and I should have just had them keep that off, it want that great and I was rushing to eat it so we could go. All the rest of the food was great and I will be going by there again before I leave.
It's a solid experience. You order on your phone so you just walk out when you're done. Food came fast too, so it's super convenient for a quick lunch. Very happy with the portion sizes and price. The XLB are satisfying. The soup doesn't overflow, but that's good when you're a noob at drinking the soup like I am. The cucumbers were my favorite, but I forgot to take a picture. Definitely get those.
Went here for dinner a few nights ago and wasn't disappointed. This spot specializes in dumplings, from boiled to pan-fried ones. I highly recommend ordering a lot of dishes and sharing them family style. Some of the highlights definitely were the sweet & sour cucumber, chicken & veggie wonton with chili sauce, Dan Dan Noodle, and the banana naan bread. The prices are also very reasonable and very competitive when compared to similar spots in the Bay Area. Would appreciate if service was more tableside as opposed to the ToastTab QR system.
Dumplings!
My wife didn't love this spot. She said that it wasn't very traditional (like lettuce and pickle in the pork bao sandwich). I enjoyed it quite a bit, though it came at a pretty steep cost. Right around $200 for four people, though we could have ordered slightly less food and been fine. The bowls of Dan Dan noodles are TINY. Lots of flavor, but a bit small. The beef rolls were pretty good, as were the pan fried buns. XLB were standard --nothing to write home about.Location is great for strolling around downtown. Would recommend.
Tasty but very oily food and had stomach issues the next day. The portion sizes are small but apt for the price. We ordered all sharable items and got to taste a variety of items. Green Onion Pancake, Pan Fried Chives Dumplings, Chicken Pot Stickers, Pork and Shrimp Boiled Dumplings, Chicken Veggie Wonton with Chilli Sauce, Chicken Veggie Wanton with Hot and Sour Sauce, Dan Dan Noodles, Ma La Noodles and Matcha Cheesecake were all the items we tried.
Ordered from the Caviar app: Steamed Berkshire-Duroc Pork Buns (4 pcs) 鲜肉蒸包 (Bao (Bun) 偏门包子)In three of the buns, the meat inside is half raw and undercooked. I spat it out immediately, this is scary and could have caused food poisoning!
Reasonably priced and good food! I like how everything is in smaller portions so you can order multiple things. My friends surprised me with a big group dinner here for my birthday and all the employees were amazing and lovely throughout the whole experience! Will definitely be going back!
I first discovered this place around the beginning of the pandemic. People were raving about how delicious and appropriately priced the food were. We all know how Bay Area charges like $12-16 for XLB. Anyway, the XLB came out first and was overcooked. It was more or less just regular dumplings :( no soup... The rest of the food failed to amaze us. They all felt bland. I'm hoping this is just a slump due to omicron virus. For now, I can only give it a 3/5. Hope you guys have a better experience here!
XLB wasn't bad but not hot enough. Dan Dan noodles were good but too spicy and rich for my taste. The boiled pork dumplings were probably the best of what I tasted today dipped in the table sauces. The street pancake thing was a little crispy but way too dry I had to stuff it with a dumpling and noodles to make it edible. Service was mechanical.
