Food is good and finally, a place that does not have soggy hash browns. Standard American fare with generous portions. A bit of wait to dine in, and that’s why there is always a line outside. Probably best to take out or order for delivery. The inside of the restaurant is cluttered with to-go stuff. I would go back again for breakfast but only at opening time, because after 8:30am the wait already gets too long.
Came here on a Saturday morning at 9:30 and saw that there was a good amount of people in line, yet most of them were takeout so we got ample seating indoors.Good:I really liked the donuts here - ube and the blueberry fritter were great, albeit a bit too sweet.I liked the instagrammablewich too though it wasn't the most amazing burger I've ever had, though the mushroom and spinach option felt pretty healthy. I also liked the tater tots that could be substituted in - super crispy and tasted fresh.Bad:I thought that the wait times were abnormally long here - we waited about 20-30 min to get our food which was a while - the inside of the place isn't incredibly clean and it's more casual but it was still a good experience.Overall would try some of the other donut options next time too.
The food is good. I tried this place because I wanted apple cider donuts. They were out of the sugar variety which is what I wanted. They had glazed and crumb. I tried the crumb and they gave me a glaze for free because they didn't have what I wanted. The donuts are very overpriced though. Some things are priced reasonably. I had the simple breakfast sandwich with bacon which was very good, bacon crispy.
Nice spot for a weekend brunch. Go early to grab an apple fritter before they get over. Place is pretty busy throughout and you have to wait in line for atleast 25-30 mins to place your order. Parking is limited which gets filled up and we were lucky to get a space.Tried the veggie burger and the apple fritter. Both were delicious. Definitely a must try brunch place in San Mateo.
One of my all-time favorite donut place. Lines are long and parking is sparse during the weekend but if you're willing to brave it, your taste buds will be very happy. Setting is a casual fast food donut shop where you can sit inside or out. Both the burgers and donuts are delicious, but what's more delicious is them combined in the Luther Burger. ??
Rising from the corpse of an old Taco Bell, this fabulous bakery/restaurant makes excellent use of this building. They also make excellent donuts! If you don't like apple fritters, you're in luck. The also make a variety of fritters using mango, banana, peach and other flavors. Pay a visit... You'll not be disappointed.
First time here and the food was amazing. Every plate that passed me looked mouth watering. Totally worth the wait, I will be back!
Delicious food. Service was relatively quick. There’s not a lot of seating and the interior/exterior isn’t anything special but the food is amazing! Highly recommend for a breakfast/lunch.
The donuts are just Ok (and the apple fritter disappointingly tasted like it was a day old) so be warned--but the breakfast was just awesome. Had the Pigs Gone Wild Brekky sandwich with hashbrowns and the Nutella Stuffed French Toast. The Brekky sandwich was just delicious--the mushrooms and arugula definitely made it more gourmet (and it was very filling) with yummy crispy hashbrowns. I had it yesterday and still wishing I was in San Mateo to eat it again today. The Nutella stuffed French toast was perfect for a sweet breakfast--the bananas and walnuts elevated it to another level. Delish!!!
Definitely a top-tier breakfast spot in the Bay Area. Have been going to Apple Fritter for years and I'm never left disappointed. They offer indoor and outdoor dining and have a good amount of on-site parking. The food is always bomb; some of the standouts include the Ham and Cheese Scramble, Brunchirrito, and the Churros French Toast. Also, is it truly a visit to a spot called Apple Fritter without trying their special Apple Fritter, I think not ;) Highly recommend this spot.
