This is one of those true old tyme diners not a fancy stylized diner like Ruby's. The food is basic but well portioned and high quality. Coffee is excellent. Prices are reasonable for families or those on a budget. Service is excellent. It can be busy at mealtimes. The steak was tender. However the biscuits and gravy were oddly flavorless. Other items were excellent.
In terms was empty except for me and my wife and the lady running the register was more interested in talking on the telephone to her friend then actually giving the service
Arrived to the San Marcos drive thru tonight at 8:50pm MIND YOU THEY CLOSE AT 9PM. There was a car waiting for their order at the drive thru window. I said hello at least 5 times with no response, so I drove up to the window where the cook was at the grill still nothing. It's now 8:54pm so I drive around the front since I see the door is slightly open to find the cashier outside. She was reaching for her cigarette on the ledge of the concrete pilar. I ask what time they close she says 9pm. I said I have been at the drive thru since 8:40pm saying hello. I said who can I speak to she replies you can talk to me and I will let my manager know. I said I am not going to leave the message with you. What is your name and your managers name. She says my name is Ana and his name is Jesse.She said sorry ma'am I took off my headset because that was the last order we were going to take. She says we close a little earlier now so we can start to clean. At which point I say don't you close at 9pm and then start cleaning. She responded for the past few weeks we have been closing a little earlier. I said that's strange because I have been here at the same time in the drive thru and have ordered. I mentioned you may way to change your closing time on the restaurant and website if that is the case. She said yes we to. I then hold up my phone and say it is now 8:57pm and you are closed. She gets very quiet and turns to walk in the door. I told her it is sad that you were more worried about your cigarette than the customers. Hopefully Jesse the manager and the owner read this and realize business is being turned away so she could have her cigarette. It will be a while before we return unless this gets fixed. Sad because my son loves eating here. We go at least 1-2 times per week. Extremely disappointed!
Freaking awesome. The meal was 10.99 and I got biscuits and gravy, 3 small pancakes, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, ham, home fries, and 2 eggs and coffee.
The 2 for $6 deals are gone, bummer! Now it's 2 for $8 but still worth it! You can get a great deal here for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The menu is very extensive. They have everything from steak and eggs to burritos. The shakes are delicious. The sandwich rolls on the burgers are outstanding. The hamburgers had a tasty flavor, the fries as will. But the chicken strip were a bit disappointing, they were small in sizes for the price of 1.99 each.

I have been coming here for years and their food is always made fresh and delicious .I have dined in and ordered in drive through and they are always fast and efficient.Their tuna salad is fire !Breakfast plates are hot and the pancakes ? are made to perfection!Coffee is hot and strong !Definitely recommend this place!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Whenever we go they never take our order in the drive thru and we end up leaving. This time we asked for pastrami cheese fries with our combo and we got all the way home to be disappointed that they forgot such a specific request.
I Should have known not to order Carne Asada nachos at a burger place but thought I’d give it a shot. I was served charcoal/burnt meat which they claimed was Carne Asada. My mom went with the Burger and that too was burnt to nearly a hockey puck. Very disappointed and won’t be coming back.
