Service was 5-stars. The staff was amazing. Atmosphere was very upbeat and pleasant. Good vibes all around.Unfortunately, the sushi was tainted. It was going well until I bit down and got a fishbone. I was weary of eating anymore after that happened. The server was quick to resolve the issue. I chose to have another dish made. We weren't charged for the tainted and replacement dishes.The sushi overall was OK. I did enjoy the cucumber roll and nude roll. Honestly, not sure if hubby and I would come back.
Superb mom and pop resturant in San Marcos thriving with loyal customers. The food remains delicious over the years and service always friendly.Prices have gone up a tad, but the portions are huge and enough for two.
My name is Kay Bates and I am the broker/owner of Bates Realty in Escondido! I ate lunch here recently and it was AMAZING. The hand crafted rolls and sashimi are delightful. The sushi chefs and staff are so friendly and make this restaurant an overall great experience. I will definitely be back very soon!
Would not recommend going here. First off, the plates and utensils are very poorly washed. I received a plate that still had food on it which was absolutely disgusting (check the picture). I had the Tonkotsu ramen with tempura. The ramen noodles were stale and stuck together. The broth had no flavor and took quite a bit to come out. Only giving it two stars because the tempura was the only edible thing.
When considering quality, price point, and service, this one is hard to beat. Not the best of the best when it comes to the quality of the rolls, but still very good, even excellent when considering the price. These guys have always treated me right going back to their small store they had prior in the same plaza. Def give them a try.
Love coming here after an amazing hair cut from the barber in the same parking lot. Authentic and satisfying. Everything from the sushi rice, quality of fish and the experience you get here, if not the best, it's definitely one of the best in north San Diego
Who doesn't like sushi on Christmas Eve with the family! We had four sushi rolls and each one came right after another, just how we like it. The food was wonderful in the atmosphere was clean and there was plenty of staff to serve us. The ownership is wonderful and involved in the restaurant you can meet Jay, if you can make anything you want that you can think of! Thanks for all you do for the community Jay!
My wife and I adore this place. The staff is super friendly and the sushi is almost always stellar. We eat here once a week and it's always a highlight of the week. Sushi, beers and sake. Here we come!

After seeing some good reviews I had an opportunity check this place out. It was buzzing on a Friday night, but we scored a table right away. Service was attentive, menu was packed with special rolls, price was good and everything we ordered was delicious. The sushi nigiri was fresh and the portions were generous. I’m looking forward to returning soon.
