All these various local Mexican food places are the same to me. Some are not great but mostly they all seem pretty identical. This one no different. Pretty well stuffed chicken fajita burrito, def no issues here on being short on ingredients. I didn't even finish it. There were only 2 salsa choices though and mere remnants of some pickled carrots, no jalapenos. The green salsa was mostly gone so scraping the bottom of the container and the red sauce looked like just water with Tabasco mixed in, very very thin and watery.
If you want a good burrito, that was made the way you asked for...Do Not come here. Very subpar, consistently mess up orders.
Food here is great! Love how they’re always open and have a variety of food. Quality and customer service is ?
Ordered the #22 Chile Verde. A few bites into my meal what I thought was just a tough piece of meat turned out to be a thin piece of metal. Looks like shavings from opening a can. Service was good and food tasted fine from the few bites I had. But I was afraid to eat the rest of my meal. Hope you see my issue with this. Potential choking hazard Not ok. ?
Since Covid Oscar's cut down on the sauces that used to be offered on their condiment table. Now it's water like green and orange-red sauce! No salsa nothing to fire up the taste. Otherwise the food is still good.
I come here often on my way home after a long shift at work and have always loved the food and have found the night staff kind and helpful. This is honestly the first time I have had a bad experience, a terrible experience. The service was horrible, very rude young lady at the cash register and the rest of the staff didn’t seem to mind at all when I asked why I was given such bad service this morning. Once I received my food, chilaquiles, they were so spicy I couldn’t eat them. They could’ve at least warned me when I ordered. And the fried egg on top was way over cooked and tasted like they dumped a whole shaker of salt into it. When I brought it to their attention they couldn’t even offer me so much as an apology. I was not rude and I did not raise my voice but I was still treated with no consideration. I am honestly very disappointed and can guarantee that Oscars has lost my business today.
Our go to here is the Carne asada fries, rolled tacos, and shrimp burrito (we order it w/o rice and add beans). We've also had the fish soup and the camarones rancheros plate, and they are delicious. Wait in the drive thru is usually not too long, since the line moves quickly.
I really hate to do this, but the treatment received from the middle aged lady working the counter at the San Marcos location was uncalled for. She was rude when she handed me my order and I told her I was short 2 more items. She reprimanded me as if I was a 5yr old child for not putting my order in correctly. When my order was taken at the drive thru speaker I ordered a total of 5 items. It wasn’t read back to me like they usually do which I understand since they had a busy line. Well come payment time and me clarifying that I was short items she let me have it. One of the line cooks and another employee were wide eyed as they couldn’t believe she was speaking to a customer this way. I could tell they felt uncomfortable about the situation. Never did I speak back to her I just apologized for the inconvenience that my order was wrong. I have tried to call both Poway’s and the San Marcos location in hopes of getting an owners email address but have not been successful. The one star review is for the customer service received on 1/14/22. My family has been coming to this location for over a decade, and have never had issues. I’m not one to usually complain as one never knows what another person is going through for them to act the way they do. However, management needs to address this individual’s customer service skills which were uncalled for.
Ive been going to Oscar's for a long time.. This place has been solid for years and years. Lately, you need to make sure you check your order. Theyres a bunch of newer people and they don't put items in your bag. When I call or go back, no one understands what I'm saying so I give up. Right now I'm out $30, and no help getting that back in sight. Avoid going in the morning ?
I was searching for mexican food and came here i feel like I lost. Carne asada was very bland would have been cold if i didnt ask for the tortilla to be crispy small burrito with very little guac on it salsas were also watered down. Basic mexican food
