didn’t even want to stay after our server forgot about one of the rolls we ordered. she definitely rang it in late, then later said they’re bringing it out which they never did. paid without getting the roll we ordered due to the amount of time we had already been waiting. super inattentive service by our server and disappointing experience. ended up leaving without the roll (which we paid for).
Awesome sushi spot in San Marcos! Service was top notch and the food was perfect! Plating and presentation was superior and artistic. Tempura was crispy and edamame was warm and not to salty. The chef was able to do a california roll on cucumber instead of seaweed for me (i do not like seaweed) . Most places wont do that, so I was super pleased. The French Kiss was fresh and thick and wonderful colors. The place was clean and tidy. The decor was attractive. It was moderately crowded at dinner time, but service was prompt. Parking is plentiful but crowded.
Tried this place while I was waiting for my car to get work done down the street. Walked in and they sat me pretty fast. I ordered spicy edamame, escolar sushi and a Philadelphia roll. The edamame wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was alright. The sushi was so tender and delicious! The escolar was really good and so fresh and the roll was a classic roll and just as good. The reason for my four stars is because the menu was pretty limited on the rolls. It just seem to lack variety. Yes they have a lot of different sushi’s but not a lot of different rolls. Anyways if I was in the area again and I wanted sushi I would come back because it didn’t disappoint! But just some areas to work on.
Coming from Sushi Haku, 5 minutes away on a day they were closed, we decided to try this place, after trying other similar places We felt comfortable trying our go to dinner special (2/3 salmon plate) in Love Boat sushi and boy, to call their portion a major disappointment would be an understatement. In Sushi Haku you get 2/3 Massively GIANT salmon pieces along with the usual, here, you get "2 salmon pieces" at a combined size of 1/4 of just one in Haku. They also charge you $5 more just to have 2 salmons as a dinner entree. I couldn't even get myself to accept that as that protein portion would not have satisfied my 10 year old daughter. The waiter was super nice and the environment was just ok, but if you come here for any salmon or fish do not expect to be respected, instead you will be charged a lot more to get 90% less than you can up the street. I've never seen such a small salmon portion in any restaurant I've ever been, this was by far the worst, so if you care for portions then this is a must SKIP.
Came here on a Tuesday evening - pretty busy inside, parking was a bit contentious as same spaces serve four restaurants but we snagged a space after a few minutes. it was a nice evening so we asked for and we’re seated on their outdoor patio. My colleague ordered the rainbow roll and I the combo with pork bbq ribs and spicy tuna roll and a couple of glasses of wine. Service was fast, food was fresh, and tasty. The combo came with 6 rolls, the ribs, a salad and a miso soup. Rainbow roll was filling at 6 pieces. Prices are modest considering all the food you get.
Excellent Japanese food
Our 5 sushi rolls came with no gingerSesame chicken had no sauce or sesame seeds, it was like plain chicken nuggetsSome servings of rice had hard crunchy pieces of rice.
Great service. Clean. Sushi was tasty and fresh. However did not like the soft crab app at all.
Poor service. They now charge 50 cents for siracha, and they don’t inform you. The waiter never checked for refills of drinks. The sushi was ok not worth it if you are craving it.
My family and I sat down and had a server who seemed like she was confused and lost. We told her our drink order and she walks away without asking if we wanted appetizers. The problem started when no appetizer ever came, actually it did, at the end of our meal. Yes, after eating our whole dinner the appetizer came out. Sadly, that wasn’t all that went wrong. My 4 year old daughter never received her teriyaki chicken plate until myself and my 6 year old son and my parents had eaten their whole dinner. My daughter was so hungry and waiting for her simple chicken and rice plate for 40 minutes and never received it until we all had eaten. The only attentive service we received was receiving the bill. I spoke to the manager about our situation and he looked annoyed at me and said “I’m sorry, kitchens busy”. He had zero empathy and walked away from me as I was trying to explain how frustrating it is to have a kid with no dinner the whole hour of our dinner. Very dissatisfied with this restaurant and I would rather spend my money on sushi at 7/11 before coming here.
