Down home cooking and service! As soon as you enter Felix's you are greeted with a Hello and Menu's if you are eating in. I had a Sweet tea and cornbread on the table in about 5 minutes after I was seated. The two lady's served us and made sure we had enough to eat and drink. We had Pulled pork , Chicken and Beef sandwiches that looked like dinner portions. Very generous on the food and it came out nice and hot. Well Done!
We love this place! Authentic Alabama food. Gumbo is unbelievably flavorful. Great fried chicken. My absolute favorite is the greens. Their andouille sausage sandwich doesn't skimp on the meat. Had rib tips last night; had enough for two meals. Also chose potato salad which tasted like fresh home-made my way. The best way to put it it for me is going to an Alabama family picnic or church potluck.
The service at this place was ridiculously good. We have grown accustomed to people saying please and thank you but it felt different here, like they really meant it. The food is reasonably priced and everything was delicious. Towards the end of my meal I saw a disheveled man digging through a nearby trash can. One of the employees packaged up some corn muffins and brought it out to him for free. I had a great experience at this place and I highly recommend it.
The food is always good but not always hot when served. Yesterday was the first time, I experienced less than satisfactory service. I believe because it was busy more than usual and seemed to be unstaffed. The young lady that served our table, I’m guessing she was new because I haven’t seen her before, just disappeared. Normally, we get the condiments placed on the table just before the food arrives and refills but not on yesterday. When the food finally came, I had to wait for my utensils and condiments. By the time I received everything my food was lukewarm. This was my first time having an experience like this at this location so I am willing to give them another opportunity. Because most of the time I have been there I have great service and food so you all deserve a second chance.
Good food and nice people! I found Felix's in Oceanside by chance last year or so, and now there's one nearby in SM. Same good food! The sauce they use is sweet, so that may not be your thing, but the meat is tender and yummy... The sides are great... I shared the sampler meal with a friend and it was more than we could eat. For $35 it's a great deal, and you could easily feed a family of four (unless you have teenagers, haha)... Gotta try the shrimp poboy next! Felix's has my southerner's seal of approval! ?
So amazing. All the food is hot and fresh to your table. If you want a good BBQ this is the place to go. Red Beans & Rice and Hush Puppies are so good.Sampler Plate, four types of meat & four sides enough food for three.Everyone friendly, great service.They are constantly cleaning if you weary about that.
Food looked so good, had to eat some before remembering to take a pic. This is my second visit and they didn't disappoint. This place is just as good as my first visit a couple of months ago. Had the Ribeye, medium, with mashed potatoes (actual potatoes!) and baked beans (a little sweet and delicious!). The meal came with hot cornbread and butter. Had the sweet tea. First glass was a bit too sweet. After half a glass they replaced it with another that wasn't so sweet and you could taste the tea. Awesome taste! I am looking forward to try something else from their menu on the next visit.
Was craving Southern food to end the year... Delicious! Excellent fried catfish, fried chicken and the best collard greens I have ever had. (And I'm from the South.) They have fried okra AND fried green tomatoes. Yum! Friendly service as well. Overall outstanding experience. We will be back to try out more of the menu! Also have a place in Oceanside.
We live less than 5 min from here and we have found a hidden gem! The service is so warm and inviting it feels like you are in your moms home getting great food. The corn bread muffins are amazing and the spicy bbq sauce it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had. I got the pulled pork and my husband got the brisket sandwich. Wonderful place and wonderful food. Best BBQ ever!!!!!Bootsie was our server and she brings the soul to this place!
Some of the nicest staff as well as the owner. The food and the service is exceptional. I am a beef rib night and now I absolutely love collard greens. The way they make it I’ve never tasted up that way before. Everything there I’ve tried is not just good, it’s exceptional!
