The employees were outstanding, one in particular helped me Ina discreet professional empathetic situation. She handled with grace and humbleness, I was TRUELY grateful and surprised, a long day revealing some very bleak health information & my debt card was not working , all I know she swiped and gave me my receipt with a smile! ❤️? Good hearted people make a difference!
I’m not quite sure why anyone would want to eat at an el pollo loco, especially this location. I didn’t even come here for food, just a gift card. I walk in, mind you nobody else is eating at this location. It is empty, dead, no gente aqui. I walk in, and there are 5 people working, chit chatting with each other, and no one comes to help me.I think I looked like an alien to them, they say hello, and continue to talk to themselves in spanish. I am white and hispanic, little do they know I know Spanish. They’re not saying anything mean or what not but they’re trying to decide who will come to help me out. It ended up taking a long time to get a simple gift card.What was even worse was seeing all of the wasted food on the grill just sitting there. Would be really disgusting to eat that stale food. Very sad.
I ordered a 2 piece chicken drum kids meal. And bite into the drum. It was so hard it broke a tooth. I haven't heard from them, they were suppose to call. My teeth hurts and it is the weekend and my dentist is closed. This happened Friday April the 29th at 7p.m. ish. Its now Sunday Morning. And my tooth hurts at level 10. I need help now, not later.

Food always seems to be good at this location. Really enjoyed the Chicken Avocodo Burrito. Buy one get one free on national burrito day.
I'd left the most current coupons at home but still had some that expired 2 weeks ago. Before I went in I googled the rules and they said at most El Pollo Loco's that the"promo code will be active until it runs out of inventory for the item." Well they do still have what I wanted on the menu but they wouldn't take my expired coupon. Even though at home I had one exactly like it for the same item that was non-expired. The "manager" said he couldn't make it scan although I know he could probably have by-passed it through. They did such a thing for me at another El Pollo Loco in Encinitas. She took a coupon with no problem and I realized looking at the remaining sheet of coupons later that I had given her one that was expired. Overall their chicken isn't at all as good as it was when I first started going there in the 90's. For the past 10 years the chicken pieces have been small and dry.
Good grilled chicken (but a bit dry) chicken tostada salad bowls are good. Fresh guac. Their taquito salad was great (and the only way to get taquitos on the new menu). Ask for wing lovers special. The salsa and pico are great too. This unit is clean and the staff is nice. However the wallpaper is peeling in the dining room (for at least a year!). Enough parking and freeway close. Bathrooms are ADA friendly. so are parking and dining.
Good place to eat when your in a hurry. Chicken was done right.
Besides the service being horrible the food was disgusting the rice was dry . I will never go there again . bad impression on the 1st time there
Chicken soup it’s not authentic it’s from a can…..la sopa de pollo es de lata…. I’m not coming back to this location…
