We have visited San Luis Obispo a million times but had never eaten here at the airport at Spirit of San Luis. It's actually a separate building nearer to the old terminal building, but you could certainly walk over from the new terminal in less than five minutes. My wife and I were two among a party of about twelve, celebrating a college graduation. Because we had a long-standing reservation, we enjoyed the private patio on the runway side of the building. It was a warm evening, but since the patio was covered and the airport was only just busy enough to be enjoyable, it was a particularly pleasant experience watching the general aviation and commercial flights arrive and depart. For the few of us who are also Av Geeks of sorts, it was an especially cool setting. We even tuned our smart phones in to the control tower frequency for a while. We started with shared appetizers and cocktails. Our waitress was so professional and efficient, and just cranked out fast and great service. In fact, our host had pre-ordered the apps, so between that and the wine service already set up tableside, everything was spot on perfect, and never once did the service drag. Every one of us enjoyed our entrees. Whether you are a local, a traveler, or an out of town visitor, while the airport setting isn't for everyone, and doesn't quite have the same cool vibe as downtown SLO, you won't be disappointed with your experience here at Spirit of San Luis.
Great location just a half mile from the private terminal, but the service is awful; in fact it's downright rude. They could ruin a nice afternoon with their bad attitudes. Watch out for their manager, Patrick- he has a terrible attitude and seems to take pleasure in making people wait before telling them they will not [ever] get a table.
Good coffee, but the service was lacking... The place was EMPTY and we were still asked if we had a reservation, and were told that the place would be full within an hour... Didn't feel welcome at all, but the coffee was decent and you can watch the planes land and take off from there...
Disappointed this visit! Poached eggs on our benedicts were overcooked. My hashbrowns were not edible, they were crispy and dry. Also, it's super noisy.
Airport restaurants can be fun, and Spirit of San Luis didn't disappoint. We sat out on the covered patio and watched planes come and go. Watched a few small planes fly in and the occupants come sit on the patio for lunch and fly back out. The menu offers a lot of choices. Mr. B went with breakfast and specifically the breakfast burrito which was quite good and served with breakfast potatoes. I chose the appetizer portion of Mac and Cheese. It was cheesy and saucy with fresh grated cheese on top. The housemade lemonade was tart and tasty. The service was great and friendly. We truly enjoyed lunch with a view and entertainment. Highly recommend. There is free parking in the lot directly in front of the restaurant.
The restaurant has a really nice outdoor seating area overlooking the private plane area of the airport. The service was exceptional, and the food was delicious. Will definately eat there again if I am ever in this area.
Spirit of San Luis is ?% a great place to relax, eat a great meal, and watch the birds take off and land. Food is wonderful and reasonably price and if your a plane enthusiast like myself brunch on the patio is a great way to spend the day. An added bonus as well is the speaker system setup by the outside viewing area in front of the restaurant gives you the ability to hear tower communications. Don't miss this great place at the SLO Airport ✈.
owner has really bad service. really bad attitude. staff very polite
Speedy & attentive service. Delicious food, generous portions! On Airport property, so VERY CONVENIENT place to grab a bite before your flight takes off, or as soon as you land. The updated arrivals & departures listed on the screen in the restaurant will keep you on schedule too! :)I would strongly suggest parking in the "RESERVED FOR SPIRIT OF SAN LUIS CUSTOMERS" parking spaces, as this will avoid any parking fees or tow away possabilities!
I love flying into San Luis Obispo Airport to have Sunday Brunch at this nice restaurant. The Seafood Omelet is the star of the Brunch menu, as far as I'm concerned. Service was very good. I'll definitely be back!
