Novo is located in downtown San Luis Obispo in a historic turn of the century building with spectacular creekside dining. Awesome fresh, delicious food, super friendly & attentive service with a gorgeous ambiance. What more do you need ?
We recently had lunch at Novo. We sat on the large outside patio which is right by and above the stream that runs through town. A perfect place for a meal. The food is very good as is the wine list. The staff are friendly and the service is very good.
We are a couple from the UK on a Roadtrip through California and had heard good things about this restaurant from various blogs. From the moment we stepped into this place, we received brilliant custom service. As we waited for our table, a waiter came over with some iced water and asked if we wanted a drink. Moments later, wd were escorted to our table outside by the creek. We thought we might be cold but the outside heaters and waitresses and waiters provided us with enough warmth to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The setting was lovely. We started with the chicken satay and then had red and green curry- the food was delicious. We could certainly taste the fresh vegetables and tender meat. In fact it was so good, we had to have dessert: the creme brûlée didn’t disappoint us. Thank-you Sasha for the exceptional customer service- so helpful and welcoming. Also thanks to Elisha for also providing that little extra in making this experience at Novo so memorable. We cannot find any fault in this restaurant! If you are in SanLuis Obispo, make sure you check this place out for dinner!
Got here around 6:45 on a Sunday and we were able to get seated super quickly! The food here was fantastic, and the service was great as well!- Lobster Bisque (3.5/5): This was just fine. It was definitely overshadowed by everything else we ordered- Green Curry (4/5): I think this also paled in comparison to everything else we ordered, but it was delicious when we ate the leftovers the following day. This wasn't too spicy considering the reputation Thai food has, which was a small delight- Mixed Greens Salad (4/5): This was alright. The fruit on it was SUPER fresh; I couldn't believe how sweet everything was!- Ahi Tacos (5/5): By far the star of the night. Would come back here just to order 3 of these- Korean Short Ribs (5/5): This was our second favorite of the night! Ribs were super flavorful and well cooked. The kimchi wasn't to our liking though- Creme Brulee (5/5): It's really hard to go wrong with creme brulee, and that holds true here as well. What I was more impressed with than the creme brulee was again how sweet the fruit was - even after eating the creme brulee the fruit was still sweet!
Agree with others. Excellent food and cocktails (eg Penicillin). Pasta limone with chicken was great - best limone sauce I’ve found outside Padua. Heaters are a must - dress warm in May! Thanks for a great romantic truly “creekside” dinner.
Our favourite meal on our PCH trip so far! Outdoor tables are warmed by heaters, Food is delicious, staff friendly, atmosphere great & a frog chorus! :)
We stopped in SLO for the farmer‘s market which was cancelled due to rain (a drizzle really according to our standards) which was such a shame. We ended up having drinks and then dinner at Novo’s and it definitely did make up for everything. Everyone who worked there was so welcoming and warm. They genuinely seem to have fun working here. The drinks and the food were among the best we have had in California and we would happily come back anytime. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening.
Arrived and it was packed, always a good sign. Seating is all outdoors with heaters in a wooded back patio area with tons on trees. Craft cocktails and wine list are both amazing. Had the calamari, samosa and chicken satay for starters. All were excellent. Both couples shared the special, which was a lamb risotto with asparagus. I thought it was extraordinary! Desert was the Novo sundae. I can’t say enough good things about this place, including the wait staff. Would come here again and again. ❤️
Had a nice group of 9 of us for a gathering. Absolutely LOVED the deck setting with all the heaters. Service was great and the food was to the moon! We loved this place.
Went for lunch as was just outstanding. Outdoor seating so nice. All of our food was just great! Best BLT I have ever had. Service was beyond good. So attentive. A must go in San Luis Obispo.
